IRVINE, Ca. (August 22, 2026) — Arquímides Ordóñez recorded the third hat trick in FC Tulsa history in a massive 5-1 road victory against Orange County SC on Saturday night at Championship Soccer Stadium.

The Scissortails came flying out the gate with a flurry of early attacking chances including a loose ball in the box that was turned home by Ordóñez in the fourth minute, marking the fastest goal for FC Tulsa in 2026. The Guatemalan forward was alert again just 16 minutes later as he punished the hosts for an errant back pass to double the Tulsa lead.

The hosts pulled one back just two minutes into the second half and appeared to have momentum before disaster struck at the back with the goalkeeper mishandling a long ball from Ian Carlo Souza Daniel that Ordóñez calmly tucked away for his third goal of the night in the 55th minute.

After Kalil ElMedkhar drew a foul outside the box on a fast break later in the half, Delentz Pierre stepped up and fired the ensuing free kick into the bottom left corner for his first career FC Tulsa goal. Three minutes later, Logan Dorsey joined in the fun off a feed from Giordano Colli to finish things off in the Scissortails’ largest win of their 2026 campaign.

LAST TIME OUT

USL Championship Regular Season
New Mexico United 1:0 FC Tulsa
Saturday, August 15, 2026 – Isotopes Park – Albuquerque, New Mexico

After the hosts created some early chances, the Scissortails dictated much of the flow for the first half. An apparent goal from Logan Dorsey was called back in the 26th minute, but he and the rest of the Tulsa attack continued to press the New Mexico back line but were unable to break through.

The hosts came out of the locker room the more aggressive side and began to test Tulsa’s defense, but Dane Jacomen and Co. were able to withstand much of the pressure. However, a penalty in the 83rd minute would find the back of the net to hand the Scissortails their second consecutive 1-0 defeat.

Tulsa was without Lamar Batista due to yellow card accumulation which saw Delentz Pierre take his spot in the eleven. Will Wilson also made his club debut as a second half substitute.

KEY STORYLINES

The Scissortails’ defense has returned to prominence over its last six contests allowing just two goals in that span with four clean sheets. The return of Lamar Batista from suspension should only enhance their efforts to capture a key result on the road.

The flip side of this stretch has seen some recent offensive ups and downs for the Black and Gold with three goals in their last six matches. The return of Remi Cabral should help this issue as the new acquisitions continue to develop familiarity with each other and understand each other’s tendencies in the final third.

The Western Conference has been turbulent in 2026 with any result, good or bad, likely to shoot or slide you somewhere new in the table. The gap between first place and being outside of the playoff picture is just six points as everyone continues to jockey for position and establish their form before the postseason arrives. FC Tulsa will look to carry on their recent defensive prowess while finding more answers offensively to prepare for another run at the USL Championship Final, this time with a different result in mind.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Goalkeeper Dane Jacomen: Jacomen has emerged as an unsung hero for the Scissortails in 2026 as he has excelled since being called into action in early July. With only two goals allowed in his last six starts and a staggering 0.56 GAA in the regular season, his presence has emboldened the back line and allowed them to play with confidence defensively knowing they can trust their guy in between the sticks.

Defender Wilson Eisner: Acquired on loan from San Diego FC, Eisner provides a capable solution in the wingback role who can cover an entire side of the pitch both in the attack and on the defensive end. The 24-year-old will look to rely on his top-level experience to add another dimension to the Scissortails in their playoff push.

Midfielder Will Wilson: The Kenyan midfielder made his club debut in the second half of last week’s match and showcased why the Scissortails were happy to add him to the fold. Wilson arrived in Oklahoma from the Finnish first division and looks to incorporate his international experience to provide another spark in the club’s buildup play.

OPPONENT INFO: ORANGE COUNTY SC

This is the 17th meeting between Tulsa and Orange County with this weekend’s hosts holding a lead in the all-time series. The Scissortails are looking for their first win at Championship Soccer Stadium since March 2019 which came in a 5-3 thriller.

Danny Stone is in his second season at the helm and has his club atop the Western Conference. Orange County enters this match after back-to-back home losses to Eastern Conference opponents. Ousmane Sylla and Yaniv Bazini form one of the premier attacking partnerships in the USL Championship, each with six goals apiece Tom Brewitt (130) and Garrison Tubbs (109) rank first and second in the Western Conference in clearances while Alex Rando (58) leads the Western Conference in saves.

KEY STATISTICS

– Both sides will look to break through offensively as Orange County averages the fewest shots per match (10.45) in the Western Conference while Tulsa has the second fewest (10.95).
– These two sides hold the lowest and second lowest passing accuracies in the West (Tulsa – 73.11%, Orange County – 79.49%).
– Both clubs enjoy playing without the ball as they rank as they hold the lowest and second lowest possession totals in the Western Conference (Tulsa – 44.57%, Orange County – 46.36%).

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on recent team form: “I think we’ve been good defensively, but we need to score goals. Whether that comes down to decision making or technical execution, the fact is we need to put the ball in the back of the net. Providing opportunities to get that right in training and then providing more clarity as to how we get that right has been the focus as of late.”

Stefan Lukic on aggressive mentality up top: “What we do is not easy. To play for FC Tulsa, it’s a challenge. It’s not for every player, but when you buy in, then we become a team that’s definitely tough to beat and a team that will challenge anyone in this league.”

Delentz Pierre on developing partnerships on the field: “I think similar to last year, we didn’t have an amazing connection between everyone in the beginning, and it’s the same thing this year. I think it just takes time. These things don’t just click overnight. During training, guys are starting to communicate a lot more and starting to learn what each other wants. Our new guys like Will, Logan and Wilson are all starting to work well with each other. I think in the coming weeks it’s going to show.”

Abdoulaye Cissoko on last Saturday’s result: “I think the second half was on us. We dropped too deep too early, and when you defend for that long, you’re prone to make a mistake, even if you defend well. I think we’ve been struggling in the second half this year, but we’re getting better. It’s the whole group that needs to work together on how to play higher and how to keep the ball to make the other team run and get a result.”

TULSA, Okla. (August 14, 2026) — FC Tulsa head west to face New Mexico United in a crucial Western Conference matchup on Saturday at Isotopes Park at 8:30 p.m. CT. as both sides look to solidify their positions as favorites to host a playoff match. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT

USL Championship Regular Season
FC Tulsa 0:1 Detroit City FC
Saturday, August 8, 2026 – ONEOK Field – Tulsa, Oklahoma

The first half was one of the rare occasions where the Scissortails outpossessed their opponent with 57 percent of the ball. Tulsa created its fair share of attacking threats but could not find the back of the net with neither side tested the keepers with a shot on target.

The visitors woke up out of the locker room with an unfortunate deflection setting up a go-ahead strike for Detroit. Tulsa pushed time after time for an equalizer but could not find the final pass as the club’s four-match shutout streak came to an end.

The Scissortails’ club-record shutout streak of 441 minutes was snapped along with its streak of four clean sheets for goalkeeper Dane Jacomen. Forward Remi Cabral returned to action for the first time since June 20 as a second half substitute but could not steer a shot on net.

KEY STORYLINES

It has been a busy transaction week for the Scissortails with a pair of acquisitions and a contract extension:

• Midfielder Will Wilson: The Kenyan midfielder arrives in Oklahoma from the Finnish first division and looks to incorporate his international experience to provide another spark in the Tulsa transition game.
• Defender Joel Sangwa: If you are going to earn a full roster spot on a 25-day contract as a defender, contributing to four consecutive shutouts certainly helps your case. In the right wingback role, Sangwa has shown great on-ball defensive prowess while also contributing in the Scissortail attack with some enticing crosses and runs.
• Defender Wilson Eisner: On loan from San Diego FC, Eisner provides a capable solution out wide who can cover an entire side of the pitch. The 24-year-old will look to rely on his top-level experience to add another dimension to the Scissortails in their playoff push.

FC Tulsa has been dealing with a revolving door of injuries in 2026 but still sit at fourth place in the Western Conference. Goalkeeper Alex Tambakis and defender Harvey St Clair are expected back soon with midfielders Marcos Cerato and Boubacar Diallo hopeful to make it back during the final stretch of the season.

After getting six of its last seven league matches at home, the Black and Gold now prepare for the inverse of that with only one match at ONEOK Field before the end of September. Not only do the Scissortails hit the road, but they do so against many of their fiercest competitors in the Western Conference including all three clubs currently ahead of them in the standings over the next four weeks – third-place New Mexico United (8/15), first-place Orange County SC (8/22) and second-place San Antonio FC (9/5).

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Goalkeeper Dane Jacomen: Jacomen has emerged as an unsung hero for the Scissortails in 2026 as he has excelled since being called into action in early July. With only one goal allowed in his last five starts and a staggering 0.50 GAA in the regular season, his presence has enabled Tulsa to surge up the conference standings these past few weeks and play with more confidence defensively knowing they can trust their guy in between the sticks.

Midfielder Jamie Webber: One of the league’s premier playmakers was at it again last Wednesday with his third goal of the regular season. Eight of Tulsa’s last 12 goals dating back to the middle of May have come from or because of Webber, who has served as the spark plug for the Scissortail attack in 2026.

Forward Remi Cabral: Fans were happy to see Cabral return to the pitch last Saturday in the attack after a leave for personal reasons. The French forward was in full rhythm prior to his time away with an impressive rate of 0.84 goals per 90 minutes across all competitions. He will hope to rediscover his scoring ways to ignite the attack.

OPPONENT INFO: NEW MEXICO UNITED

This is the tenth meeting between Tulsa and New Mexico with the Scissortails holding a slight lead in the all-time series. The highest profile match between these two sides came in last season’s Western Conference Final where Tulsa dominated in a 3-0 victory featuring a brace from Taylor Calheira and another goal from Jamie Webber. Tulsa are unbeaten in their last five matches against New Mexico since August 2023 including three consecutive wins for the Scissortails.

Dennis Sanchez is in his second season at the helm and has his club rolling at the moment with six straight victories across all competitions and are unbeaten in its last ten matches across all competitions. Greg Hurst has been in great form for New Mexico with three goals in his last three matches which has him as the club’s leading scorer. Niall Reid-Stephen and Valentin Noël also factor into the attack while Kristopher Shakes ranks fifth in the USL Championship with 54 saves.

KEY STATISTICS

– Tulsa allows the fewest shots per match (3.00) in the USL Championship while New Mexico allows the most (4.81) in the Western Conference.
– New Mexico has the fifth highest possession rate (53.86%) while Tulsa has the fifth lowest (45.46%).

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on recent team form: “I think it’s about consistency. If you have a consistent lineup, you can start to build on that consistency but also use depth off the bench. We’re building as we should be throughout the season. No game is easy in this league, and we know the opponent that New Mexico is, so it’s about preparing the best we can this week.”

Spencer on impact of midseason acquisitions: “It just takes time to get to know one another, right? We’ve been working on that in training – understanding what each individual prefers, where their strengths are, where their weaknesses are and how we balance that. We’re not a finished product, but we’re certainly progressing.”

Giordano Colli on developing attacking partnerships: “The biggest thing we have to do is be able to get those relationships right and punish teams when we have the opportunity. We need to put teams away when we can when we have a lot of momentum. That starts on the training pitch. We just need to keep working hard to create those relationships.”

Arquímides Ordóñez on embracing club identity: “It’s been good. I’ve never been on a team where everyone’s so front-footed and aggressive.  It’s really easy to want to run and press hard when you see everyone willing to do the same thing for you. Everyone is connected. Say one of the strikers wants to go press. You’ll see a 10 running next to him, and then you’ll see a midfielder running, too.  It’s like a domino effect, so it’s just easy to do it.”

Stefan Lukic on aggressive mentality up top: “What we do is not easy. To play for FC Tulsa, it’s a challenge. It’s not for every player, but when you buy in, then we become a team that’s definitely tough to beat and a team that will challenge anyone in this league.”

LAST TIME OUT

USL Championship Regular Season
FC Tulsa 1:0 Sacramento Republic FC
Wednesday, August 5, 2026 – ONEOK Field – Tulsa, Oklahoma

A sweet finish from midfielder Jamie Webber in the 66th minute helped FC Tulsa take down Sacramento Republic FC 1-0 on Wednesday night at ONEOK Field. The Scissortails extended their regular season shutout streak to 390 minutes, the longest in club history.

Goalkeeper Dane Jacomen was called into early action for the Scissortails with three saves in the opening ten minutes. From there, Tulsa created the majority of the chances in the first half with forward Arquímides Ordóñez serving as a spark plug in the attack. Multiple offsides calls, however, derailed their efforts for the most part as the match remained scoreless at the break.

Out of the locker room, the visitors seemed eager to tip the scale in their favor with a flurry of chances after a pair of halftime substitutions. The Tulsa back line turned them away though and continued their recent defensive prowess.

The Tulsa breakthrough came in the 66th minute with forward Stefan Lukic taking advantage of some space outside the box and lobbing a precision pass into Webber who promptly found the back of the net for his third goal of the season to place the Scissortails in front. Despite some late threats from Sacramento, the hosts held onto three points and rose up to third place in the Western Conference.

This was the first match since the start of May where head coach Luke Spencer was able to keep the same eleven from the previous match. As the squad has recovered from injury with more help on the way, they have grown in confidence on the field. Since defenders Abdoulaye Cissoko and Ian Carlo Souza Daniel have returned to the back line alongside Lamar Batista, the Scissortails have not conceded a goal in their last four matches.

KEY STORYLINES

Tulsa’s defense is on a historic run with its longest regular season shutout streak in club history (390 minutes). It helps that Dane Jacomen has been a brick wall between the sticks (eight saves in that span) as the Scissortails appear to have rediscovered its formula to success from 2025.

FC Tulsa has been dealing with a revolving door of injuries in 2026 but still sit at third place in the Western Conference. Goalkeeper Alex Tambakis and defender Harvey St Clair are expected back soon with midfielders Marcos Cerato and Boubacar Diallo hopeful to make it back during the final stretch of the season.

Midseason additions have added some promise in the attack as of late with Logan Dorsey cashing in again on the road last Wednesday and Arquímides “Quimi” Ordóñez doing work on both sides of the field in his first start for the Scissortails. The emergence of the Tulsa offense will be highly anticipated in the final three months of the regular season as head coach Luke Spencer’s side looks to position itself for another postseason run.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Defender Joel Sangwa: As the 27-year-old defender nears the end of his 25-day contract, he has certainly made a strong case for his time with Tulsa to be extended. In the right wingback role, which is a new challenge for him, Sangwa has shown great on-ball defensive prowess while also contributing in the Scissortail attack with some enticing crosses and runs.

Midfielder Jamie Webber: One of the league’s premier playmakers was at it again on Wednesday with his third goal of the regular season. The South African midfielder completed 32 of 34 passes while also winning eight duels to go with six recoveries. Eight of Tulsa’s last 12 goals dating back to the middle of May have come from or because of Webber, who has served as the spark plug for the Scissortail attack in 2026.

Forward Logan Dorsey: As the Minnesota United FC loanee has gelled with this FC Tulsa attacking core, he has grown more confident and lively in his play. In five consecutive starts at striker for the Scissortails, Dorsey has found the back of the net twice while creating serious scoring chances for himself and others around him.

OPPONENT INFO: DETROIT CITY FC

This is the sixth meeting between Tulsa and Detroit with the Scissortails unbeaten against their Michigan counterparts. It has been almost two full years since the last meeting between these clubs with Tulsa winning 1-0 in Michigan. This match features the third seeds from both conferences in 2026.

Danny Dichio is in his third season at the helm and has his club in prime position to host playoff soccer in Michigan in three months. Darren Smith is the focal point of the Detroit attack with his 11 goals leading the league Golden Boot race. Kobe Hernández-Foster also factors in as he leads the side with four assists and 32 chances created. Defensively, Haruki Yamazaki leads the league in interceptions (27) and tackles (44) while Devon Amoo-Mensah ranks seventh with 96 clearances.

KEY STATISTICS

– The Scissortails are allowing the fewest shots on target (3.06) in the league in 2026 while Detroit averageS the fourth most shots on target (4.94).
– This match features two of the top five defenses in the USL Championship (Tulsa – 0.94 GAA, Detroit – 1.00) with scoring chances likely to be at a premium.

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on recent team form: “I think it’s about consistency. If you have a consistent lineup, you can start to build on that consistency but also use depth off the bench. We saw that tonight with Lukic coming in and contributing to a great goal. We’re building as we should be throughout the season.”

Spencer on impact of midseason acquisitions: “It just takes time to get to know one another, right? We’ve been working on that in training – understanding what each individual prefers, where their strengths are, where their weaknesses are and how we balance that. We’re not a finished product, but we’re certainly progressing.”

Abdoulaye Cissoko on finishing out home spell: “They are very important because they’re at home, and we need to have some results here. I think we let go of some points at home this year, and we need to make the fans proud of us.  We need them and their support, and we don’t want to lose points at home. We need to win every game starting tomorrow against Sacramento, so we’re going to go game by game.”

Arquímides Ordóñez on embracing club identity: “It’s been good. I’ve never been on a team where everyone’s so front-footed and aggressive.  It’s really easy to want to run and press hard when you see everyone willing to do the same thing for you. LAST TIME OUT

USL Championship Regular Season
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC 0:1 FC Tulsa
Wednesday, July 29, 2026 – F.N.B. Stadium – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In a rematch of last season’s USL Championship Final, the Scissortails threatened early with a spree of chances and hit paydirt in the 13th minute as Logan Dorsey connected from outside the box to put Tulsa in front. A few more shots just missed the target as Tulsa controlled the flow of the match going into the break.

The hosts made some more noise in the second half with 64 percent of the possession but struggled to create any serious attacking opportunities. The closest they came was on a stoppage time header that went just wide of the right post, but nothing got past goalkeeper Dane Jacomen who earned his third consecutive shutout.

Dorsey’s finish was his second for Tulsa in league play this season and third across all competitions while midfielder Jamie Webber’s assist was his fourth and seventh in those two categories, respectively. Forward Arquímides Ordóñez recorded his first career start in a Tulsa kit while defender Owen Damm made his return to the pitch in the second half in his first appearance since May 16 at Corpus Christi FC in the Prinx Tires USL Cup.

KEY STORYLINES

This match was rescheduled from July 4 after a weather delay postponed the affair. This is the second of three matches between these sides in the regular season with the third coming on October 3 at ONEOK Field.

Tulsa’s defense is on a historic run with its longest regular season shutout streak in club history (300 minutes). These last three matches have finally seen the combination of Lamar Batista, Abdoulaye Cissoko and Ian Carlo Souza Daniel all healthy, and they have responded while holding opponents to just four shots on goal in that span. It helps that Dane Jacomen has been a brick wall between the sticks as the Scissortails appear to have rediscovered its formula to success in 2025.

Midfielder Jamie Webber: One of the league’s premier playmakers was at it again on Wednesday recording his seventh assist across all competitions in 2026 while also impressing defensively, winning 8 of 12 duels to go with a match-high five interceptions and six recoveries. Five of Tulsa’s last nine goals dating back to the start of June have come off feeds from Webber, who has served as the spark plug for the Scissortail attack in 2026.

Forward Logan Dorsey: As the Minnesota United FC loanee has gelled with this FC Tulsa attacking core, he has grown more confident and lively in his play. In four consecutive starts at striker for the Scissortails, Dorsey has found the back of the net twice while creating serious scoring chances for himself and others around him.

OPPONENT INFO: SACRAMENTO REPUBLIC FC

This is the 18th meeting between Tulsa and Sacramento with this Wednesday’s visitors holding a lead in the all-time series. Last season, the Scissortails recorded their first two victories against their California counterparts, both in 1-0 fashion. Taylor Calheira’s late goal was the difference back in March 2025 at ONEOK Field while Kalil ElMedkhar did the job in Sacramento later that June.

This match features the top two seeds in the Western Conference in 2025. These two sides faced off in the 2026 season opener with Sacramento getting the 2-0 win on the west coast back on March 7.

Neill Collins looks to outperform last season’s early playoff exit, and his side is rounding into form with the best defense by goals allowed per match in the league (0.94) and eight goals scored in their last two matches. Tyler Wolff (hat trick vs. JAX – 8/2) and Memo Rodríguez (three assists vs. JAX – 8/2) hope to continue stellar form in the attack while Lee Desmond and Freddy Kleemann anchor one of the league’s premier back lines.

KEY STATISTICS

– Danny Vitiello recorded his 63rd regular season shutout last Saturday against Sporting Club Jacksonville, passing Tulsa’s Alex Tambakis for the most in league history.
– Logan Dorsey’s 13th minute strike against Pittsburgh last Wednesday was the earliest goal for the Scissortails in 2026.
– This match features the two best defenses in the Western Conference (Sacramento – 0.94 goals allowed per match, Tulsa – 1.00) with scoring chances likely to be at a premium.

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on last week’s victory: “It was a strong performance. I think it was again very strong defensively. What I like to see is the growth in the attack. I thought we created some chances there and looked more in rhythm together. We said after Lexington that we needed to improve relationships in possession, and that takes a little bit of time, so we’re happy to see that’s moving in the right direction.”

Spencer on impact of midseason acquisitions: “It just takes time to get to know one another, right? We’ve been working on that in training – the relationships, understanding what each individual prefers, where their strengths are, where their weaknesses are and how we balance that. We’re not a finished product by any means, but we’re certainly progressing.”

Abdoulaye Cissoko on next two home matches: “They are very important because they’re at home, and we need to have some results here.

I’ve never been been on a team where everyone’s so front-footed and aggressive.

LAST TIME OUT

USL Championship Regular Season
FC Tulsa 0:0 Lexington SC
Saturday, July 25, 2026 – ONEOK Field – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Things were very physical early on with seven yellow cards being handed out in the first half with four for the hosts. Both teams created some promising attacking chances but couldn’t capitalize as the scoresheet remained empty at the break.

Tulsa looked the more aggressive side out of the locker room but were unable to find a breakthrough. The visitors responded with their own flurry to finish things out, but two key saves from goalkeeper Dane Jacomen were enough to see the Scissortails keep their second straight clean sheet.

This was Jacomen’s second clean sheet of the regular season and third in 2026 across all competitions as Tulsa have still not allowed a goal against Lexington in three total matches. Defender Joel Sangwa impressed in his first start for the club, and forward Arquímides “Quimi” Ordóñez made his FC Tulsa debut off the bench in the 64th minute.

KEY STORYLINES

The past two results for the Scissortails have been reminiscent of the strong defensive performances that carried the club to the USL Championship Final last season. These were the first two matches since April 15 that Lamar Batista, Abdoulaye Cissoko and Ian Carlo Souza Daniel were all in the starting lineup as the latter two had been dealing with injuries in that stretch.

FC Tulsa has been dealing with a revolving door of injuries in 2026 but still sit at fifth place in the Western Conference. Goalkeeper Alex Tambakis and defender Harvey St Clair are both expected back soon with midfielders Owen Damm, Marcos Cerato and Boubacar Diallo all hopeful to make it back during the final stretch of the season.

The Western Conference is incredibly tight as things stand with the Scissortails just a point out of a home playoff spot and two points clear of 11th place. With a match or two in hand on every opponent, Tulsa will look to mimic last season’s late season form and make another charge for a USL Championship Final appearance.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Defender Lamar Batista: Last season’s All-League Second Team defender has seen a revolving door of players with him on the back line this season due primarily to injuries, but Batista has stepped up in their absence to help Tulsa maintain its defensive identity. The 28-year-old leads the side in clearances (77) while continuing to be a force on set pieces, shown by his match-winning goal last Saturday against El Paso.

Forward Stefan Lukic: Fans at ONEOK Field were delighted to see the Serbian forward get back on the pitch after a three-month absence after suffering a lower leg injury in Oakland on April 18. His return provides the Scissortails with their favorite super sub and his ability to show up in the biggest moments. He scored eight goals off the bench last season for Tulsa, which makes him the highest scoring substitute in club history.

Forward Arquímides “Quimi” Ordóñez: The 22-year-old Guatemalan forward arrives in Oklahoma to provide another quality option in the Scissortails’ attack. In his time at Loudoun United FC this season, his number was primarily called off the bench as he ranked second for the club in goals (3) and shots (21) and third in chances created (10) and duels (116) in their 2026 campaign. Ordóñez will be added to the likes of Remi Cabral and Logan Dorsey to put the ball in the back of the net and help the Black and Gold make another postseason charge.

OPPONENT INFO: PITTSBURGH RIVERHOUNDS SC

This is the eighth meeting between Tulsa and Pittsburgh with Wednesday’s hosts holding a slight lead in the series. The highest profile matchup in this series came in last season’s USL Championship Final where the Riverhounds were victorious in penalties after a scoreless affair. The other non-regular season matchup in this series came in the Fourth Round of the 2024 U.S. Open Cup with Phillip Goodrum scoring a late winner in the 88th minute.

After serving as a assistant on last season’s squad, new head coach Rob Vincent has Pittsburgh ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference. This was the club’s seed entering last year’s postseason before their run to a title. Albert Dikwa (6 goals) and Trevor Amann (5 goals) lead the Riverhounds’ attack with former Tulsa man Eliot Goldthorp also factoring into things.

KEY STATISTICS

– Pittsburgh have started halves well this season with ten goals in the opening 15 minutes of either frame, the most in the Eastern Conference.
– The Riverhounds average the second fewest shots per match in the league (9.75) with Tulsa allowing the second fewest in the Western Conference (10.6).

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on last Saturday’s result: “I think tonight was a hard fought match by both teams. It was tough in this heat, so it was a lot of stop and start, difficult for either team to get a flow. We’re a physical team, and we know that, but the game comes down to challenges and duels a lot of the time. We try to come out on top in those, so that’s not changing. That’s who we are, and we’ll look to carry that on.”

Spencer on team mentality moving forward: “We don’t get carried away looking at the table. It’s always next game up for us. We look at what we can control and being process-oriented. We’ve been very good defensively. I think we can be better in possession. We’ve been very good on set pieces, so there’s a lot of positives to take from where we’re at but also some opportunities to improve and apply moving forward. That’s the challenge as we go forward. How can we stay looking one game at a time and not getting distracted by outside noise or where we’re at in the table? If we focus on training well, preparation and execution, then the table will take care of itself.”

Logan Dorsey on back half of 2026 season: “It’s all about buying in, and when we’re bought in, we’re hard to beat. We’re taking things one match at a time and three points at a time. We want to make this place hard for other teams to win, and that’s what we know we do well. We’re just focusing on this match here at home and making sure we get three points out of it.”

Arquímides Ordóñez on what he brings to Tulsa: “They’ll see an aggressiveness. I try to be exciting on the ball and want to score as many goals as possible. It’s good to bring that mentality into a locker room with guys who also have a lot of experience as well. I know the fans are incredible here, so getting in front of them is going to be a good feeling.”

TULSA, Okla. (July 24, 2026) — FC Tulsa hopes to continue its climb up the Western Conference standings as they host Lexington SC on Saturday, July 25 at ONEOK Field at 7:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast on Tulsa CW and streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT

USL Championship Regular Season
FC Tulsa 1:0 El Paso Locomotive FC
Saturday, July 18, 2026 – ONEOK Field – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Neither side were able to break down either back line for most of the first half as the visitors controlled most of the possession. Tulsa would be the ones to break through, however, as midfielder Jamie Webber found Batista on the back post off a set piece just before the half.

The standout defensive performance for the Scissortails continued in the second half with goalkeeper Dane Jacomen only called on to make one save on the night in his first league shutout for the Black and Gold. The El Paso attack was limited to just 0.66 xG on the evening as Tulsa picked up their first home victory over Los Locos in club history.

Batista’s goal was his third across all competitions this season and his second in the regular season while Webber’s assist was his sixth and third in those two categories, respectively. This was Webber’s 12th assist for FC Tulsa, placing him second all-time for the club behind Rodrigo da Costa (25).

Forward Stefan Lukic made his first appearance since April 18 after recovering from a leg injury. Defender Joel Sangwa also made his club and USL Championship debuts as a second half substitute.

KEY STORYLINES

The Scissortails’ 1-0 win over El Paso last week was reminiscent of the strong defensive performances that carried the club to the USL Championship Final last season. This was the first match since April 15 that Lamar Batista, Abdoulaye Cissoko and Ian Carlo Souza Daniel were all in the starting lineup as the latter two had been dealing with injuries in that stretch.

Lamar Batista and Jamie Webber earned selections to the USL Championship Team of the Week after connecting for the match-winning goal last Saturday. Batista won eight of his 12 duels while recording 49 touches on the evening, the second most on the team. Webber was the one to eclipse that mark with 57 touches while completing 26 of 33 passes including 12 of 17 in the final third in the victory.

The Western Conference is incredibly tight as things stand with the Scissortails just a point out of a home playoff spot and four points clear of 11th place. With a match or two in hand on every opponent, Tulsa will look to mimic last season’s late season form and make another charge for a USL Championship Final appearance.

OPPONENT INFO: LEXINGTON SC

This is the third meeting between Tulsa and Lexington with the Scissortails recording a pair of shutouts last season. Jamie Webber bagged a brace at ONEOK Field last season in this matchup in a 3-0 Scissortails’ victory.

First year head coach Masaki Hemmi has turned things around for Lexington this season after a slow start. They have won five of their last seven regular season matches, scoring three or more goals in four of them. In goal, Oliver Semmle has recorded five clean sheets for Lexington this season, including one on Wednesday in a 2-0 win against Oakland Roots SC.

Lexington features several former Tulsa players including Phillip Goodrum, who leads the side in goals (4) and shots (27), and Blaine Ferri, who leads the club in chances created (32) and ranks fourth in the league. These two along with Milo Yosef and Marcus Epps combined for 205 appearances and 38 goals wearing Tulsa kits.

KEY STATISTICS

– Lexington have started matches well this season with a league-most five goals in the opening 15 minutes. By contrast, Tulsa has only allowed one goal in that timeframe in 2026.
– A fast start will be key for Tulsa as Lexington are 0-4-0 this season when conceded the opening goal. Inversely, they are 6-2-3 when scoring first.

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on last Saturday’s result: “It’s nice to be back home in front of our fans, and it’s nice to do it with a shutout. We talked about getting back to us this week which is being extremely difficult to play against and good defensively, so I’m happy to get a shutout and see it pay off.”

Spencer on team mentality moving forward: “We don’t get carried away looking at the table. It’s always next game up for us. We look at what we can control and being process-oriented. LAST TIME OUT

Prinx Tires USL Cup
Birmingham Legion FC 3:1 FC Tulsa
Saturday, July 11, 2026 – Protective Stadium – Birmingham, Alabama

The hosts came out on the front foot with goalkeeper Dane Jacomen forced to make some impressive saves in the opening half hour. Birmingham capped this run of pressure with a wonder strike in the 28th minute to put them on top early.

It only took Tulsa five minutes to respond, however, as off a set piece, midfielder Giordano Colli crossed a ball that found the head of forward Logan Dorsey to level the match in the 33rd minute. More attacking chances for the Scissortails followed in the coming minutes, but the match remained deadlocked at halftime.

Birmingham rediscovered their early attacking prowess in the second half with a barrage of chances that the Tulsa back line were able to fend off. A wicked deflection, however, in the 84th minute off defender Harvey St Clair was the winning goal for the Legion and was followed by another in the 93rd minute to seal the deal.

Dorsey’s goal was his second across all competitions for FC Tulsa this season and first in the USL Cup. Colli recorded his first assist while Jacomen’s six saves were his most against a USL opponent this season.

KEY STORYLINES

July 4’s home clash against Sacramento Republic FC was rained out meaning that it’s been four weeks since the Scissortails have last played a league match. It’s the longest in-season break in club history with the second half of the season finally set to get underway on Saturday. Head coach Luke Spencer’s squad will look to shake off the rust and rediscover their May form to climb the league standings these last few months.

The 32 shots allowed by FC Tulsa last week were the third most in club history across all competitions. The Scissortails were without some key figures defensively and playing on tired legs after a three-week absence, but the back line will certainly look to make life easier for goalkeeper Dane Jacomen in goal this weekend.

The Western Conference is incredibly tight as things stand with the Scissortails just two points out of a home playoff spot and four points clear of last place. With a match or two in hand on every opponent, Tulsa will look to mimic last season’s late season form and make another charge for a USL Championship Final appearance.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Midfielder Jamie Webber: The South African has been a workhorse for the Black and Gold in 2026. He is the only player to start all 20 games across all competitions this season tallying three goals and five assists in the process. He will be called on to continue his attacking ways as FC Tulsa look for some more stability up top.

Midfielder Bailey Sparks: An offseason acquisition, Sparks has engrained himself into the fabric of the Tulsa attack starting the last nine matches on the right wing. Fans will hope the former SMU Mustang can return to his early season form to help provide another dangerous option for the Black and Gold in the final third.

Forward Logan Dorsey: The 24-year-old forward played sparingly for Rhode Island FC earlier this season on loan from Minnesota United FC. Since his arrival in Oklahoma, however, he has made an immediate impact up top for a Tulsa attack more than willing for another scoring threat to emerge. Dorsey has shown he has a knack for goal and has made a habit of finding himself in the right place at the right time for the Black and Gold early on.

OPPONENT INFO: EL PASO LOCOMOTIVE FC

This is the 12th meeting between Tulsa and El Paso with Locomotive holding a slight edge in the all-time series. Tulsa are unbeaten in five of their last six matchups with El Paso but are looking for their first win over Locomotive at ONEOK Field. These two sides squared off in El Paso back on April 29 with the Scissortails coasting to a 4-1 victory after an early red card by the hosts. Remi Cabral bagged a brace while Nelson Pierre and Kalil ElMedkhar also got on the scoresheet.

First year head coach has ignited the Locomotive attack in 2026 as they lead the Western Conference in goals scored (25) this season. On the flip side, however, they have also allowed the most goals (24) in the West. Rubio Rubín has made a massive impact for the club since joining in the offseason, leading the side in goals (8), assists (4) and shots (28). Amando Moreno (five goals) and Alex Méndez (five goals, three assists) will also be called on in the attack for Los Locos.

KEY STATISTICS

– El Paso have started fast out of the locker room as they lead the USL Championship in goals scored in the opening 15 minutes of each half (12).
– A fast start will be key for Tulsa as El Paso are 0-4-1 this season when conceding the opening goal. Inversely, they are 5-0-3 when scoring first.
– Someone will have to possess the ball in this match as Tulsa (45.24%) and El Paso (47.64%) enter the match with the second and third lowest possession totals in the West, respectively.

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on last Saturday’s result: “I think we wanted to get through the game healthy.  We’ve had a lot of injuries, so we didn’t want to take a lot of risks. The good thing is we did that, but I also think that there’s a lot of things to take from where we can improve. I don’t think we were good defensively, but the score was 1-1 for a large portion of the game. We had some tired legs at the end of the second half there, but we’ve looked at that in film, had a good week of training and are prepared for the weekend.”

If we focus on training well, preparation and execution, then the table will take care of itself.”

Abdoulaye Cissoko on back half of 2026 season: “A key for us will be the energy and also the way we start the second half. I think we were pretty good in the first half, but now, we need to be consistent during the 90 minutes. That’s something I think we missed the first couple of months. This was a good break to reset and focus now on the second half of the season.”

Stefan Lukic on recovery from injury: “I’m overly excited, especially for Saturday’s game at home. I love this place. I love the crowd. I’m excited to be back. I’ve been gone and injured for too long, so I cannot wait to step on the pitch.”

Saturday, June 20, 2026 – ONEOK Field – Tulsa, Oklahoma

In a matchup of the past two Western Conference champions, FC Tulsa suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at ONEOK Field. The visitors were on the front foot for the first 20 minutes forcing the Tulsa back line to fend off some attacking threats. After things leveled out a bit, the match looked as if it would be scoreless heading to the locker room before forward Remi Cabral poked home a loose ball in the box off a throw-in in the first minute of stoppage time to give the hosts the advantage.

Colorado Springs came out of the break fired up, however, as they slotted home a pair of goals in a five-minute span in the first 15 minutes of the second half to take the lead. A couple of chances from midfielder Jamie Webber and forward Logan Dorsey excited the home crowd, but ultimately, the Scissortails were unable to find a late equalizer.

Cabral’s goal was his fifth of the regular season and ninth across all competitions in 2026, both team highs. This match also marked the return from injury for defenders Abdoulaye CIssoko and Delentz Pierre along with forward Kalil ElMedkhar who all got their first starts in nearly two months.

KEY STORYLINES

Last week’s home clash against Sacramento Republic FC was rained out meaning that it’s been three weeks since the Scissortails have been in action. It’s the longest in-season break in club history with the second half of the season getting underway. Head coach Luke Spencer’s squad will look to shake off the rust and rediscover their May form to climb the league standings these last few months.

June was an up-and-down month for the Scissortails that ended with a league-wide mental health break allowing the club to recover and get back some much-needed energy for the summer months ahead. Captain Abdoulaye Cissoko addressed that it was good chance for the guys to be refreshed mentally and physically while getting back on track with their lofty preseason expectations.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Midfielder Jamie Webber: The South African has been a workhorse for the Black and Gold in 2026. He is the only player to start all 19 games across all competitions this season tallying three goals and five assists in the process. He will be called on to continue his attacking ways as FC Tulsa look for some more stability up top.

Midfielder Bailey Sparks: An offseason acquisition, Sparks has engrained himself into the fabric of the Tulsa attack starting the eight matches on the right wing. Fans will hope the former SMU Mustang can return to his early season form to help provide another dangerous option for the Black and Gold in the final third.

Forward Remi Cabral: The French forward has been red hot as of late with three goals in his last four matches for the Scissortails. He has tallied a team-high nine goals across all competitions in 2026 and has proven to be a go-to man in the box which will be crucial for the club to reach its expectations this year.

OPPONENT INFO: BIRMINGHAM LEGION FC

This is the 12th meeting between Tulsa and Birmingham with the two clubs tied at four wins apiece in the all-time series. This weekend’s hosts have had the upper hand as of late with the Scissortails’ last win against the Legion coming in July 2022. Birmingham were victorious in last year’s USL Cup clash between these two sides in 2-1 fashion at ONEOK Field with a pair of second half goals proving the difference.

First year head coach Jay Heaps looks to turn things around for the Alabama side after a last place Eastern Conference finish in 2025. Things have gotten off to a rocky start in 2026 as they sit in tenth place in the east through 15 league matches. Tyler Pasher and Dawson McCartney have led the charge for the Birmingham attack while Jassem Koleilat ranks second in the USL Championship in saves this season (45).

KEY STATISTICS

– Birmingham averages the most fouls won per match in the league (16.4) while conceding the second fewest (11.27). In contrast, Tulsa have won the seventh most (14.62) while conceding the fourth most (15.54).
– Remi Cabral’s 0.86 goals per 90 minutes across all competitions this season is the highest such rate in FC Tulsa history.

RECENT QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer on first half of 2026: “I think we’re at a really good spot as a team considering all the things that we’ve gone through up to this point. We had a lot of additions to the roster coming into this season and then some injuries early on. We’ve faced a ton of adversity already, and being able to come through that has only made us grow closer with a lot of learning opportunities. We’re looking forward to this next challenge.”

Spencer on what break means for team: “I think having a break is important, mentally and physically. It’s not always great for me because I like to be here working and enjoying what we’re doing, but it is nice to have everybody back, refreshed and ready to go. We’re getting bodies back healthy which has been a big issue up to this point, so it’s nice to have available players healthy, and training has reflected that this week.”

Giordano Colli on club’s next man up mentality: “We came into the start of the year knowing that every player is going to be valuable in this team and that everyone is going to have to play a role at one stage or another. With injuries coming as they did with a lot of key players being out for us, players had to step up, and they have. We know that every player counts just as much as any other in this team, and we need to keep going.”

OPPONENT INFO: SACRAMENTO REPUBLIC FC

This is the 18th meeting between Tulsa and Sacramento with this Saturday’s visitors holding a lead in the all-time series.

Neill Collins looks to outperform last season’s early playoff exit, but his side are off to an up-and-down start in 2026 which finds them holding on to the last playoff spot in the West. Sacramento boast the best defense in the conference by goals allowed per match (1.00) but have struggled on the offensive end tied for the fewest goals scored (13). Michel Benítez and Arturo Rodriguez have led the charge for the Sacramento attack while Lee Desmond and Freddy Kleemann anchor one of the best back lines in the USL Championship.
