FC Tulsa will serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the Tulsa Arts District Criterium Race and Host “Saint Francis Tulsa Tough Night” at ONEOK Field

TULSA – FC Tulsa will once again team up with one of Tulsa’s biggest annual sporting events, Saint Francis Tulsa Tough. Tulsa’s pro soccer team will serve as the Presenting Sponsor for the Tulsa Arts District Criterium, the Saturday race on June 11. With on-course branding and custom FC Tulsa jerseys presented to both the men’s and women’s podium finishers in the premier pro races on Saturday night, fans at Saint Francis Tulsa Tough will see plenty of FC Tulsa.

Race week will officially kick off at FC Tulsa’s home match against Miami FC on Saturday, June 4 with “Saint Francis Tulsa Tough Night” at ONEOK Field. All riders and volunteers will receive a special ticket offer to FC Tulsa’s match that night and are invited to bike to the match. The club will have designated racks to set up inside the ONEOK Field gates for riders to lock their bikes during the match.

There will also be a Saint Francis Tulsa Tough table set up on the concourse for fans to snag a free T-shirt while supplies last and learn more about one of Tulsa’s most exciting sporting events.

Fans of Saint Francis Tulsa Tough that would normally come to “Crybaby Hill” will find a similar atmosphere at ONEOK Field on June 4 in 83 United’s “Supporters Section.” Instruments, chants and cheers emanate from the Supporters Section while plenty of beverages are consumed throughout FC Tulsa’s match.

FC Tulsa’s match will also feature a free prematch show by Pilgrim as a part of the club’s Summer Concert Series, presented by Bill Knight Ford, just outside the gates at ONEOK Field. The show will go from 6-7 p.m. with kickoff of the match at 7:30 p.m. FC Tulsa will also provide all fans with a postmatch Fireworks Show, immediately following the conclusion of the match.

Free Prematch Concerts Featuring Local Music Acts to Precede all Summer Saturday Matches

TULSA – After serving as the Main Stage sponsor at Mayfest in downtown Tulsa last weekend, FC Tulsa is now bringing live music to the front door of ONEOK Field on Saturday matches throughout the summer. Starting on Saturday, May 21, club will host a six-match Summer Concert Series, presented by Bill Knight Ford and produced by FC Tulsa, Horton Records, Live from Cain’s, Red Dirt Relief Fund and Tulsa FMAC.

The FC Tulsa Summer Concert Series will feature six different local Tulsa artists, performing a free prematch concert directly outside of ONEOK Field, with the stage facing North on Elgin Ave. Each concert will be from 6-7 p.m. CT with FC Tulsa kicking off its pro soccer matches at 7:30 p.m. with a postmatch Fireworks Show immediately after the match.

“We want FC Tulsa home matches to be more than just 90 minutes on the pitch, but an all-encompassing fan experience that represents Tulsa,” said FC Tulsa Chief Business Officer, Michael Schetzel. “Adding live music to an FC Tulsa matchday that already includes first class pyrotechnics, fireworks and pro sports is something we have been working on for two years. FC Tulsa Table to be Set Up at Guthrie Green

FC Tulsa will Host the Kids Zone from 3-6 p.m.

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo tomorrow, FC Tulsa is taking part in Foxy Tacos’ Smash and Bash street party on Cherry Street!

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., FC Tulsa will have a Kids Zone set up with pop-up goals and other family-friendly activities.

In addition to the Kids Zone, the Smash and Bash celebration will be filled to the brim with food trucks, margaritas and other drinks, games, live music, mechanical bull rides, and of course the reason for the name of the festivities itself – the piñata smash, where one lucky person will wind the grand prize of $500!

The Bash itself lasts from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., so make sure to swing by the Kids Zone in the afternoon and play a bit of soccer!

When he was Needed, Alfredo Pimentel Acted Without Hesitation, Saving a Life

Last Friday, FC Tulsa was able to help honor a very special 17-year-old who saved the life of his co-worker while on the clock.

Alfredo Pimental, an East Central High School student, sprung into action when one of his McDonald’s team members collapsed and was rendered unresponsive for several minutes. As his co-worker was laying on the ground bleeding, Alfredo began chest compressions while 911 was called and Alfredo kept his co-worker stabilized until First Responders could arrive, saving his life.

As a way of honoring Alfredo and his actions, FC Tulsa partnered with McDonald’s to surprise Alfredo with a ceremony attended by local representatives from the Fire and EMS that initially responded to the situation.

Also in attendance were FC Tulsa’s Darío Suárez, Rodrigo da Costa, and Adrián Diz Pe to present a jersey signed by the club and a suite for Alfredo to catch a match with 20 of his friends and family members later in the season.

When asked about what advice he would give to someone that may find themselves in a similar situation, Alfredo responded, “Don’t be afraid to give someone CPR.”

When FC Tulsa travels to El Paso to take on Locomotive FC this Wednesday, you can travel to the Tulsan Bar for the official Watch Party of FC Tulsa!

The Elementary Soccer League in North Tulsa will Run for Five Weeks

TULSA – On Saturday, the Tulsa Dream League is back for its second season in 2022 with 13 teams. The first-ever free-to-play elementary soccer league in North Tulsa will kick back off at the Tulsa Dream Center for a month-long season.

Prior to its inaugural season in 2021, FC Tulsa helped to fund the Dream League with a $15,000 donation. The BNSF Railway Foundation, a FC Tulsa community partner, also contributed $30,000 to the league over three years (2021-2023) to provide necessary equipment and uniforms. A portion of BNSF’s donation will also allow participants to enjoy a night out at ONEOK Field to see FC Tulsa in action.

Last season, over 300 area children participated in the Dream League, free of charge.

In 2022, the Dream League will feature six 2nd and 3rd grade teams and seven 4th and 5th grade teams. Schools represented in the league around Tulsa will include Hawthorne Elementary, Legacy Charter School, Drexel Academy, Unity Learning Academy, Springdale Elementary, College Bound Academy and Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy.

The Dream League is run and supported completely by volunteers, and the regular season will run for five Saturdays, with each weekend having a different theme.

Cinco De Mayo Celebration – The league has planned a Hispanic Heritage celebration with a mariachi band, themed-food and more.

Saturday, May 14
Target Day – Staff from the Tulsa Hills Target will be on hand to give away goodie bags and refreshments to players.

Saturday, May 21
University of Tulsa Day – Athletic Dept. coaches and players from the University of Tulsa will come to the Dream Center to meet and cheer on the athletes and assist volunteers.

Saturday, May 28
BNSF Day & Playoffs – Teams will compete for a Championship in a day-long postseason tournament with BNSF present to participate in Playoff Saturday.

The Dream League is still accepting donations of Size 3 soccer balls and Small and Medium shin guards to make sure all teams have enough equipment to participate. Donations can be dropped off at the Tulsa Dream Center or at the FC Tulsa Team Shop, located at 1155 S. Elgin Ave. in downtown Tulsa.

Registration for Players and Teams is Now Open

TULSA – FC Tulsa is partnering with Warrior Soccer Tour again in 2022 to make a stop right here in Tulsa, allowing Tulsans to take part in a local tournament hosted by the national tour organization on June 25.

Two co-ed competitions will be held, a U6-U8 3v3 tournament and a U9-Adult 5v5 tournament. Each team is guaranteed to play four matches consisting of 12-minute halves, and medals are awarded to the teams that finish in the top three. The tournament will last from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. that Saturday.

All talent levels are welcome to participate, whether you are a skilled player with a competitive background or enjoy playing for fun and are looking to develop your soccer ability. Full team registration is also an option for groups of players wanting to compete together against the competition.

Included in the registration cost of every player is an FC Tulsa ticket to its match against Charleston Battery later that night at 7:30 p.m.

Anyone with a Ticket can Attend a Free Yoga Session on the Pitch with Updog Yoga

TULSA – FC Tulsa is back at ONEOK Field on Saturday night against Colorado Springs and will be hosting the club’s first Health & Wellness Night at the stadium. From on-pitch Updog Yoga to a Tippi Toes halftime performance, FC Tulsa will bring healthy and fun entertainment to downtown Tulsa this coming weekend.

Starting at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday evening, Updog Yoga and instructor Mark Wilson will hold a free yoga class on the FC Tulsa pitch. Anyone with a ticket to the match is invited to bring their own yoga mat and attend the class. Gates to the stadium will open at 6 p.m. to all yoga participants to enjoy the calm before the FC Tulsa storm.

At halftime, 6-year-olds from the Tippi Toes dance studio will entertain fans with a halftime performance on the field. Fans can also catch the tiny dancers prematch at the Oil Derrick where the ensemble will be warming up for their performance.

Several businesses promoting physical fitness will have booths set up throughout the ONEOK Field concourse including Orangetheory Fitness, Total Zumba Fitness, FleetFeet, RadNet Inc., StretchLab, Row House and Parkside Inc.

Orange Theory is hosting a contest at their table and any fan who enters will have a chance to win 10 free classes!

FC Tulsa will take on Colorado Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and tickets to the match start at only $12.

MaKenzie Thomas to Headline Artists on FC Tulsa’s Stage Following its Match on May 7 at ONEOK

TULSA – Mayfest returns to downtown Tulsa in just a few weeks, and again FC Tulsa will play a prominent role in supporting Tulsa’s biggest art festival. From May 6-8, Mayfest will take over the Tulsa Arts District and Historic Greenwood with dozens of local artists showcasing and selling their works, and FC Tulsa is the festival’s newest sponsor. FC Tulsa will be the Main Stage Sponsor of Mayfest in 2022, the premier stage at Guthrie Green where the weeks’ top musical artists will perform throughout the festival.

Mayfest announced on Friday morning its headliner on the FC Tulsa Stage at Guthrie Green will be MaKenzie Thomas, a finalist on Season 15 of The Voice. Thomas will perform at Mayfest on Saturday, May 7 following FC Tulsa’s match at ONEOK Field. Another artist to hit the FC Tulsa Stage over the weekend will be New Orleans-inspired brass band King Cabbage, which will headline the Friday night acts.
