Angel Bernal returns to FC Tulsa ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season.
2023
Being the youngest player in franchise history at the time of his signing, Bernal has made a statement for FC Tulsa. Proving himself late in the season with his first professional goal against Hartford Athletic on October 13. Bernal played 229 minutes in the 2023 season and appeared in 8 games. The 18 year old has a pass accuracy percentage of 92 and a tackles won percentage of 77.
2022
FC Tulsa signed Bernal on September 22, 2022 from the FC Dallas Academy. In doing so, Bernal became the youngest player in franchise history to ink a professional deal with FC Tulsa.
He appeared in all four matches after being signed near the end of the season for FC Tulsa. Bernal debuted as a substitute at Detroit City FC on September 24 appeared three more times for Tulsa with two starts before the conclusion of the season.
2022 – FC Dallas Academy
After seven years with the San Antonio FC Pro Academy, Bernal made the move to the Academy program of MLS’ FC Dallas in August. Bernal then signed with FC Tulsa shortly thereafter.
2016-2022 – San Antonio FC Pro Academy
Bernal signed with his hometown club’s Pro Academy in 2016. As a U-14 and U-15, Bernal participated in the Copa Rayados tournament where his side would make it to the cup finals in 2019. In 2021, Bernal made his senior team debut in a Friendly vs. Liga MX club Pumas as a halftime substitute.
Between his time with Academy programs at San Antonio FC and FC Dallas in 2022, Bernal was invited by the Houston Dynamo to participate in the Generation Adidas Cup for the club and totaled five appearances for Houston.
