TULSA – FC Tulsa will honor two types of heroes at its next two home matches at ONEOK Field. On Saturday, July 10, the club lifts up its local educators with a Teacher Appreciation Night and the following Saturday, July 17, FC Tulsa will pay deserved respect to its active-duty military and veterans who served with a Military Appreciation Night. Both Saturday matches will include special touches to honor teachers and military members and FC Tulsa will continue its postmatch Fireworks Shows.
“We will continue to use our platform as Tulsa’s pro sports team to honor those who serve our city and country selflessly,” said FC Tulsa president James Cannon. “I am excited to welcome all of our educators and our active duty and veteran military members throughout the Tulsa area to ONEOK Field during our next homestand.”
For Teachers Appreciation Night on July 10 in a big rematch against Louisville City FC, FC Tulsa will offer all teachers, with proof of ID, $10 off all ticket prices at the box office on matchday. The club will also collect school supplies for the Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association (TCTA) at ONEOK Field during the match and throughout the month of July at its HQ at 1155 S. Elgin Ave. in downtown Tulsa. FC Tulsa will also honor a “Teacher of the Match” through its community partnership with the TCTA.
Active-duty and veterans of the military will receive the same great ticket special the next week, with proof of ID, for FC Tulsa’s Black Gold Derby match against OKC Energy FC with $10 off each ticket sold at the box office on matchday. The club intends to have a special National Anthem performance before the match as well as honoring a veteran who served.
