The legendary Jamaican goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts was named the interim head coach of FC Tulsa on June 17, 2022. A USSF “B” license holder, Ricketts served as the FC Tulsa First Assistant coach and goalkeepers coach before being named interim head coach in mid June.
Ricketts’ goalkeeping résumé speaks for itself. One of the greatest players in Jamaican National Team history, Ricketts made more than 80 appearances for his country on the international stage, often serving as his country’s captain. He competed in numerous CONCACAF tournaments including numerous Gold Cups and 2010 World Cup qualifying. He was a member of Jamaica’s 1998 World Cup team.
His club career was just as prolific, as he spent time professionally playing in Jamaica, England and the U.S. He recorded over 100 appearances in England for Bradford City A.F.C. in English League One.
Ricketts is likely best known for his time in MLS as one of the greatest keepers in league history. He was named the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year twice and won an MLS Cup in 2011 with LA Galaxy.
