TULSA – For the second week in a row, FC Tulsa garnered national attention from a road victory. Saturday’s 2-0 win at Saint Louis FC earned FC Tulsa the biggest ascent up the USL Championship power rankings.
In the Week 7 rankings released Monday afternoon, Championship writer Nicholas Murray moved FC Tulsa up six more spots to 14th out of the 35 USL Championship clubs, a jump greater than that of any other team in the league.
It takes them ahead of recent opponent Saint Louis FC, who fell down to 16th, and also future out-of-group foe Sporting Kansas City FC, who remained at 15th. Elsewhere in Group D, San Antonio FC rose to fourth in the league, making Wednesday’s home opener all the more high-profile.
FC Tulsa is still second in the group at 14th, and as it stands in week 7, all but its three matches versus San Antonio FC come against teams below them in the Power Rankings. Fellow Group D teams Austin Bold (20th), OKC Energy FC (28th) and Rio Grande Valley FC Toros (34th), as well as Sporting Kansas City II (15th) and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (25th) are all on the schedule going forward for FC Tulsa.
