From all of the Tulsa Roughnecks FC players and staff, THANK YOU!!
The 2019 season provided us with a very exciting step forward both on and off the field.
The 2019 Roughnecks showcased a 14.7% increase in overall wins with a 4.2% increase in chances converted to goals ending the season with 45 goals! This is largely thanks to our player with the second-most assists in the USL at 13, Rodrigo Da Costa. Another testament to the on-field improvements can be gauged by the 3 Goals Of The Week. You could even argue we became the bicycle kick capital of the USL with both Rodrigo Da Costa & Toby Uzo winning Goal Of The Month for their epic displays of athleticism.
Adding the leadership and experience of Cyprian Hedrick and Matt Sheldon to our backline helped keep the ball out of our net 15% more than last year by allowing 8 fewer goals from the previous season and finishing the season with 4 clean sheets. Goalkeepers Sean Lewis and Mason Stajduhar attributed to our defenses success and this shows by their 6 Saves of the Week nominations.
Off the field, we welcomed the transition of ownership that will propel professional soccer in Tulsa to levels only seen by the true Tulsa soccer aficionado. The Craft brothers are from Tulsa with strong ties to the community that will help make this team Tulsa’s team. The team record under their leadership is 4-4-5. Through their continued guidance we will be adding staff to our Front Office to re-establish what it means to have professional soccer in Tulsa.
Soccer is a sport for the community and we will need your help to raise the spirit of the city with us. During this off-season we will have giveaways through our social media channels, attend community events, and watch parties. If you think there is something we should be at email Justin (jbates@roughnecksfc.com).
