TULSA, OK– The Tulsa Roughnecks played host to Reno 1868 FC in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 19th at ONEOK Field.
This evenings match would be Tulsa Roughnecks final match of the 2019 USL season. In the 14th minute, Mallan Roberts mistimed a tackle on Aidan Apodaca inside the 18-yard box, awarding Reno a penalty kick. Corey Hertzog tucked away the penalty to give Reno the lead in the 15th minute. Reno 1868 FC were able to strike again quickly in the 22nd as Aidan Apodaca found himself on the end of a through ball from Seth Casiple. After a chested first touch, Apodaca found himself in the Roughnecks 18-yard box and tucked away the opportunity into the far post side netting. The half continued with the Roughnecks pushing to cut the deficit in half, but were unlucky, leaving the half down 2-0.
The second half began with the Roughnecks aiming to finish the season strong as they came out on the front foot. The half was choppy and burdened with fouls. Corey Hertzog secured his brace on the day on the end of a Raul Mendiola through ball. The match ended 3-0 with Reno 1868 FC on top.
The Tulsa Roughnecks finish the year with a record of 8-16-10.
