TULSA, Oklahoma (Monday, May 13th , 2019) – The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will play their first 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match tomorrow when they take on Austin Bold FC. The Roughnecks FC go in to the match following a weekend off from USL Championship play. Kickoff in Austin is set for 7:30 P.M. CST (Tuesday, May 14th , 2019) and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Tomorrow’s U.S. Open Cup match will be the first of three meetings between Tulsa Roughnecks FC and Austin Bold FC, with the Roughnecks hosting Austin Bold Saturday, June 1st at ONEOK Field.
Coming into this matchup the Roughnecks currently rank 5th in the USL Championship’s Western Conference standings, while the Austin Bold FC enter in at 7th place.
Austin Bold are coached by Brazilian, Marcelo Serrano. Serrano also serves as the Head Coach of the US Virgin Islands men’s senior national team. Prior to taking the Austin Bold job, Serrano was an assistant coach for the US Youth u17 National team.
Kleber Giacomazzi will be a player the Tulsa Roughnecks FC will need to keep in their sights. Giacomazzi, a 35-year-old Brazilian striker has mad a career of finding the back of the net.
