The Black Gold Derby is heading east again.
The Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced Tuesday that ONEOK Field will host the first leg of The Black Gold Derby presented by the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on April 27th. “We are thrilled to announce this partnership with the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for our Derby Match. Fans can expect a great match between Oklahoma’s two professional soccer teams and a chance to meet the businesses that make up the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber,” said Tulsa Roughnecks General Manager, Wayne Farmer.
The Black Gold Derby was established 2015 during the 2015 season for both teams to serve as an in-state rivalry for soccer superiority in Oklahoma. “The Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is honored to partner with the Tulsa Roughnecks. Fútbol and the Hispanic culture go hand in hand because we have it embedded in our DNA, so to partner with The Tulsa Roughnecks was the only logical thing to do for us,” said Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, President, Ivan Alvarez “We have prepared a night to remember, a night that will make history, bring on the derby.”
“The game Is growing real momentum with both teams starting the season off well,” said Farmer. “To add to the night Mayor David Holt of Oklahoma City and Mayor GT Bynum of Tulsa will be leading their respective cities out.” Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 7:00PM and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
