The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will play its first-ever day match at ONEOK Field this Saturday, March 31, when it hosts Orange County SC. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in downtown Tulsa, and the first 1,000 fans through the Arvest and Oil Derrick Gates with a paid admission will receive a TRFC 2018 Season T-shirt compliments of Hillcrest, Tulsa’s Channel 8 and
97.5 KMOD.
In addition, it is a Youth Soccer Player Day with youngsters, ages 12 and under, who wear their team’s soccer jerseys to the game able to purchase any ticket in the seating bowl for only $5.
The early kickoff will give fans the opportunity to experience Saturday’s activities in downtown Tulsa to the fullest. The TRFC match should end at approximately 5:00PM, just prior to the start of the first of two NCAA Final Four matches. The timing allows everyone to continue their sports day in downtown Tulsa, including at Lefty’s on Greenwood, across the street from the stadium. The Roughnecks official After-Match Party will take place at Lefty’s with fans having the opportunity to meet and mingle with many of the TRFC players and coaches while also enjoying several drink specials (see below).
Saturday’s game will mark the second of three straight home matches at ONEOK Field for the Roughnecks who have dropped their first two games of the 2018 campaign. They have started the year with a pair of one-goal defeats, including a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Real Monarchs last Saturday in Tulsa.
Orange County SC has one point from its first two matches. Saturday’s outing will be the second game of the week for OCSC, following a Wednesday evening match down the turnpike in Oklahoma City with the Energy.
The Roughnecks claimed a 4-0 win against Orange County at ONEOK Field last season and played to a 0-0 draw in southern California. TRFC is 3-1-1 in its history against the Orange County franchise, including a 2-1-0 record in Tulsa.
