MATCH RECAP: FC Tulsa Drop Home Regular Season Finale

TULSA, Okla. (October 17, 2026) — A late surge from Oakland Roots SC uprooted FC Tulsa on Saturday night at ONEOK Field in a 4-2 affair.

Tulsa came out the gate firing with a shot from Logan Dorsey taking a deflection off Will Wilson and finding the back of the net in the third minute, the fastest goal for the Scissortails in 2026. The visitors were able to equalize in the 21st minute, however, as Wolfgang Prentice leveled the match on a counter opportunity.

WIlson and Dorsey linked up again just four minutes into the second half with the Minnesota United FC loanee slotting home a cross from the South African international to regain the lead for the Black and Gold. A similar cross from Oakland would find the feet of Prentice, however, for his second of the match in the 60th minute before late rebounds from Peter Wilson and Bertin Jacquesson gave the visitors three points on the road.

MATCH NOTES

Wilson’s goal was his second as a Scissortail in league play while Dorsey’s was his fifth.
Marcos Cerato made his season debut for FC Tulsa after recovering from a leg injury.

MATCH QUOTES

Head coach Luke Spencer: “I think tonight was just overall not good enough. That’s easy to say, and that’s not just because of the score. That’s just the performance. We have chances we have to put away, and then we can’t be giving up four goals, period, especially at home. We weren’t ourselves tonight, but we’ll have to move forward from this in a productive way.”

Defender Abdoulaye Cissoko: “I think our performance was a bit better today offensively but defensively not good enough for sure. We need to win next week to have the momentum heading to the playoffs. It doesn’t matter if you play home or away. We need a strong mindset to go away and win games during the playoffs.”

Forward Logan Dorsey: “For us, it’s about completing a game. I feel like we haven’t been able to put the whole thing together. Obviously, we have at times, but we need more consistency, and that’s what we’re searching for. It’s back to the drawing board to see what we can improve on in film and then move on.”

NEXT UP: The Scissortails head to Colorado for their regular season finale as they visit Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in a crucial Western Conference clash with playoff seeds on the line on Saturday, October 24 at 8 p.m. CT. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
