MATCH RECAP: Late Penalty Bites FC Tulsa in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (August 15, 2026) — FC Tulsa fell to New Mexico United 1-0 at Isotopes Park on Saturday night after conceding a late penalty.

After the hosts created some early chances, the Scissortails dictated much of the flow for the first half. An apparent goal from Logan Dorsey was called back in the 26th minute, but he and the rest of the Tulsa attack continued to press the New Mexico back line but were unable to break through.

The hosts came out of the locker room the more aggressive side and began to test Tulsa’s defense, but Dane Jacomen and Co. were able to withstand much of the pressure. However, a penalty in the 83rd minute would find the back of the net to hand the Scissortails their second consecutive 1-0 defeat.

Tulsa was without Lamar Batista tonight due to yellow card accumulation which saw Delentz Pierre take his spot in the eleven. Will Wilson also made his club debut as a second half substitute.

The Scissortails hit the road again next weekend as they head to California to face Western Conference leaders Orange County SC on Saturday, August 22 at Championship Soccer Stadium at 9 p.m. CT.
