Tampa Bay, FL – FC Tulsa looks on after being defeated 5-0 at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
The Rowdies started off the night as they scored just 11 minutes in with forward Manuel Arteaga heading one home above FC Tulsa goalkeeper Joey Roggeveen.
Three more were scored in the first half from the Rowdies side. Forward Cal Jennings headed in the second goal of the night from an assist by Charlie Dennis. Another header from Forrest Lasso off of the corner kick sealed the third goal for the Florida side.
A foul in the box after first half stoppage time was added resulted in a late penalty kick for Tampa Bay Rowdies. The kick was taken by Arteaga to give Tampa a 4-0 lead going into the half.
Even with controlling 68% possession in the first half, FC Tulsa only had 1 shot on target compared to the Rowdies 32% of possession and 7 shots on target.
After acquiring defender Owen Damm this week, he made his FC Tulsa debut this evening coming in for the second half. FC Tulsa saw three substitutes in Alex Dalou, Camilo Ponce, and Damm going into the second half.
One more goal came for the Rowdies side in the 70th minute to seal the 5-0 defeat.
When the final whistle blew, FC Tulsa held 65% possession with 6 shots compared to the Rowdies 21 shots.
