TULSA – A very special evening of soccer is in store for Tulsa fans on Sunday, September 3. FC Tulsa will host its match vs. San Antonio FC at the University of Tulsa’s Hurricane Soccer Stadium for the first time in USL Championship regular season history.
In addition, legendary local music act King Cabbage Brass Band, Oklahoma’s only New Orleans style big brass band, will kick off the evening at 6:15 p.m. to perform an hour long set before the match begins at 8 p.m.
“We are extremely thrilled to host a league match at the University of Tulsa and are thankful for the relationships we have been able to build with the University administration, head coach Tom McIntosh, and everyone associated with the soccer program over the past 12 months,” said FC Tulsa president Sam Doerr. “This is an unbelievable opportunity to showcase the quality of our league in a soccer specific venue, and we look forward to a sold-out crowd and a unique, intimate environment that is sure to further our connection with the Tulsa soccer community.”
FC Tulsa played four matches at Hurricane Soccer Stadium this past preseason, welcoming fans for its exhibition matches against the University of Tulsa twice, MLS NEXT Pro’s Sporting KC II, and USL League One’s Union Omaha.
