MIAMI, Fla. – Jorge Corrales will be in action for the Cuban National Team on Tuesday night when the veteran represents his home country in Cuba’s opening match of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Corrales’ next appearance will mark the 43rd of the 32-year-old’s national team career, seven of which have come in Gold Cup play, to go alongside one goal and two assists.
Cuba is slated for three matches during the first round of Group D play and will battle Guatemala on Tuesday, followed by Guadeloupe on July 1 and Canada on July 4. The top two nations in Group D will advance to the Round of 16 where they will match up with the two teams to advance from Group A (United States, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, St. Kitts and Nevis).
Corrales has been a mainstay on the Cuban roster dating back to 2012 when he debuted during International Friendlies before breaking through during World Cup Qualifying the same year.
