TULSA – Another jaw-dropping performance from FC Tulsa’s man between the posts, Michael Nelson, has just earned the keeper his first USL Championship Team of the Week honor of the campaign.
Nelson shined in Seaside, registering his second clean sheet of the season and making five saves on five shots faced to shut out Monterey Bay F.C. His performance raised his season save tally to 38, tied for the fourth-most in the USL Championship.
The goalkeeper is in blistering form, amassing a stellar 11 saves combined over his last two outings at Monterey Bay and Louisville City FC. Over his last six outings, Nelson has posted a 77.14% save pct. and buffed his season save pct. to 73.1%.
Nelson and the rest of FC Tulsa are back in action this Friday when the club travels to Virginia to take on Loudoun United FC. The first match between the two sides concluded with a 3-0 victory for FC Tulsa in the club’s 2023 home opener.
