TULSA – Back at ONEOK against Louisville City FC.
FC Tulsa's last matchup at ONEOK Field will be rematched on Saturday night as the former league champions will make their second trip in 2021 to Green Country for a Saturday night showdown in downtown Tulsa.
The sides last met at ONEOK on June 19. LouCity jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first ten minutes scoring from a corner, a counter, and the penalty spot. However, FC Tulsa largely dominated the last 80, grabbing two goals back and controlling the run of play. The home team was unable to even the match with a third goal, although there were chances aplenty. The lads will be hoping to re-establish that control early in the match this Saturday.

SCOUTING LOUISVILLE CITY FC
LouCity will enter Saturday’s match on form, with four wins and one draw in its last five matches with Louisville's last loss coming on June 6. The club sits at second in the Central Division, two points off the top and four points ahead of third place FC Tulsa. The squad’s top goalscorer is Cameron Lancaster with five goals in seven matches, while Brian Ownby and Corben Bone lead with three assists each. Goalkeeper Chris Hubbard has kept three clean sheets with 10 goals conceded.
THINGS TO KNOW
1) Defense Back in Form
FC Tulsa’s defense has had a roller coaster start to 2021. After opening the season with three strong performances, allowing just one total goal, FC Tulsa had a five-match stretch where it allowed 17. All five of those included the opponent scoring multiple goals, and FC Tulsa went 1W-4L in those matches. Now, FC Tulsa has righted the ship defensively, giving up just one total goal in its last two matches, a win and a draw.
2) Wormell Excels
23-year-old rookie keeper Austin Wormell was signed this offseason as a depth piece, leaving Rogers State University to ink his first professional contract. However, after strong performances in the preseason and in training, Wormell has moved up the depth chart and now finds himself as FC Tulsa’s starting keeper. In his two starts in net, Wormell has allowed just one goal while making four saves. He earned his first career clean sheet against OKC Energy FC last Friday night.
3) Central Scorers
The Central Division boasts some of the best offenses in the USL Championship. FC Tulsa is one of four teams in the Central that are among the eight highest goal scoring clubs in the USL Championship. Louisville City FC, in second overall, leads the division with 21 total goals. FC Tulsa and Sporting KC II each have scored 17 goals, tied for sixth place in the league ranks. Atlanta United 2 are just one back with 16 goals, tied for eighth in the USL Championship.
