TULSA – FC Tulsa continues to be recognized among the league’s elite.
Attacker Rodrigo da Costa’s stellar performance throughout the month of June has earned him a nomination as one of five finalists for USL Championship Player of the Month. Da Costa’s four goals and two assists across five June matches propelled FC Tulsa to a pair of wins and the highest scoring month in FC Tulsa history.
In addition to his direct contributions to six goals in the month, da Costa created eight chances and made 23 recoveries, serving as a leader in both attack and defense for FC Tulsa. Da Costa is the second player to be up for a USL Championship Player of the Month award already this season, with forward Joaquín Rivas earning a nomination for April/May’s honor.
The award vote is comprised of a fan vote on USLChampionship.com, which makes up 51% of the total tally, as well as ballots from the USL Technical Committee and the USL National Media Panel, which make up 25% and 24%, respectively.
Other finalists include Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Hadji Barry, Ronaldo Damus from Orange County SC, Danny Barrera from Hartford Athletic, and Cameron Lancaster from Louisville City FC.
Voting runs through Thursday July 15, with the winner being announced on that day. FC Tulsa fans can vote for Rodrigo da Costa here for the next week.
