TULSA – When Solomon Kwambe went down in the 28’ in Saint Louis, it added to the long list of ways that 2020 had not gone the way anyone planned it.
“It was never my intention to deal with injury,” said Kwambe. “But in these games, injuries occur and if you're a victim, you have to deal with it. I give all thanks to God that I'm back and I’m back and better.”
Kwambe’s six appearances and 386 minutes in 2020 made him an important role player for the club. His 2.1 tackles per 90 minutes and 1.9 interceptions per 90 minutes were both third on the team.
“It means a lot to me because I'm coming back to finish what I've started with this great team,” Kwambe said. “I'm ready to rebound for this season. I'm looking forward to improving on the field for the team.”
Kwambe joined the club before the 2020 season and found a place in Tulsa where he was supported throughout the difficult season, both in the locker room and on the pitch.
“Coach Nsien and I are like brothers,” Kwambe said. “He's a big brother and we have a great relationship. I'm excited to work with him comes 2021. It’s also going to be a privilege for me to be in front of the FC Tulsa fans, I believe that they're the great motivators whether we’re on the field or off the field. Their patience was incredible, and I’m looking forward to see them in 2021.”
