EL PASO, Texas – No one can question the fight of FC Tulsa. Backs against the wall, FC Tulsa went down swinging as it fell on the road in penalties to El Paso Locomotive FC 2-2 (4-2) in the Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2020 USL Championship Playoffs.
FC Tulsa scored in each half to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead in the second half through goals by Rodrigo da Costa and Callum Chapman-Page. Ultimately, El Paso equalized from a corner in the 82’ minute and carried the momentum through the rest of regulation, extra time and penalties.
The margins in penalties are slim and a shot just high by midfielder Lebo Moloto and another by Ariel Martínez saved proved the difference as El Paso made no mistake on each of their penalties to advance in the postseason.
