TULSA – FC Tulsa’s win on Saturday night/Sunday morning turned heads for too many reasons to count. Maybe it was the excitement of the first win of the FC Tulsa era, or maybe it was the fact that the final whistle blew around 2:30 a.m. after nearly five hours of weather delay.
No matter the reason, FC Tulsa’s best start to a season in franchise history has led to the second biggest jump of any club in the USL Championship’s Week 6 power rankings.
FC Tulsa jumped up from 26th to 20th, leapfrogging Austin Bold FC and OKC Energy FC in the power rankings in a similar fashion as it leapfrogged them in the Group D table.
This puts FC Tulsa in 2nd place in the group power rankings, behind San Antonio FC in sixth. Austin dropped to 23rd, OKC Energy dropped to 28th, and RGVFC dropped to 33rd.
FC Tulsa has five matches remaining against teams ahead of it in the power rankings (Saint Louis FC, San Antonio FC x3, and Sporting Kansas City II), and eight matches against teams below it (Austin Bold FC x3, RGVFC x2, OKC Energy FC x2, and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC).
