Back in the late '70s, John and I were at a friend's house and John was asked to be an assistant coach for his 6-year-old's son's soccer team. After the " I don't know much about the game", Jerry insisted and John agreed. We had so much fun with it that when our son Geoffrey wanted to play several years later, John and Sarah, our daughter, agreed to coach his team.

I became the art teacher at Arrowhead Elementary in Broken Arrow in 1999 and am retiring this year. I have 400 students from kindergarten to 5th grade.
When did you both become Tulsa fans?
We started attending the matches in the 1978 season with friends and became season ticket holders in 1979. (Front row, visitors side!)
Do you have any favorite Tulsa soccer memories?
Sitting behind the visitors' bench was always great for me, but the most memorable was in 1980 when we beat the NY Cosmos in front of 30,000 fans at Skelly Stadium.
How do you feel about the direction of the team under new ownership?
I am so excited to have true soccer people involved with the team. The fact that the Crafts are local guys, speaks to loyalty, to the history of the game and to the fans in Tulsa. Access to ownership has been special. We truly feel like part of the family.
Who is your favorite player on the team and why?
I'm a big fan of Cyprian Hedrick. He is a solid defender. He is an asset to our defenders and his experience will benefit the younger players. He is so approachable and friendly.
Which kit do you like more, the City or State?
I love the State kit.
