TULSA, Oklahoma (Thursday, May 2, 2019) – The Tulsa Roughnecks FC are set to travel to Reno, Nevada for their match-up against Reno 1868 FC taking place this Saturday at Greater Nevada Field. The Roughnecks go into Saturday sitting in 2nd place in the USL Championship’s Western Conference standings. Kickoff from west Nevada is set for 9:00PM CST and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
This will be the first of two meetings between both teams this season. Saturday’s match will be the fifth match all-time between the two sides, with the Roughnecks trailing the series 0-3-1. Reno 1868 (3-2-3, 12 points) enter Saturday’s match following a 1-0 loss to El Paso Locomotive FC on April 27th.
Reno 1868 currently ranks 5th in the USL Championship’s Western Conference standings.
Reno is coached by Ian Russell. Russell previously served as the assistant coach at San Jose Earthquakes. He is also the club’s first Head Coach in the club’s history, earning the title in November 2016. In his first year under the helm; Russell has guided Reno 1868 FC to a playoff berth, as well as setting some new Records in the USL: Single Season Goals (69) and largest margin of victory in USL history (9).
The Roughnecks will have their eyes on RenoForward, Brian Brown. Brown has made an immediate impact for the Reno 1868 FC after scoring 5 goals in just 7 appearances for the team.
