TULSA, Oklahoma (Tuesday, April 23, 2019) – The Tulsa Roughnecks FC are set to play host to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for their match-up at ONEOK Field on Wednesday, April 24th. The Roughnecks go into Wednesday’s match in 6th place in the USL Championship’s Western Conference standings. Kickoff from ONEOK Field is set for 7:00PM CST and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
This will be the first of two meetings between both teams this season. Wednesday’s match will be the ninth match all-time between the two sides, with the Roughnecks trailing the series 3-5-0. Colorado Springs (2-3-2, 8 points) enter Wednesday’s match following a 2-2 draw against the Portland Timbers 2 on April 20th.
The Switchbacks currently rank 14th in the USL Championship’s Western Conference standings.
The Switchbacks are coached by former United States National Team standout, Steve Trittschuh. Trittschuh was named the head coach of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on March 11th, 2014 as the first head coach in the club's history. He has led the Switchbacks to back-to-back playoff appearances and top-three regular season finishes in the Western Conference.
The Roughnecks will have their eyes on Switchbacks Defender, Jordan Burt and Midfielder, Shane Malcolm as both are tied for three goals in seven appearances.
