TULSA, Oklahoma – Head coach Michael Nsien has announced that Cyprian Hedrick and Jeff Addai have been selected to serve as the team captain and vice-captain respectively for the Tulsa Roughnecks upcoming 2019 season.
We are excited to announce Cyprian and Jeff as the captain and vice-captain for the Roughnecks for the 2019 season. Although we have a great pool of players with leadership capabilities, these two jumped out and took responsibility and built trust with myself and their teammates right away. I see them both as an extension of myself while they are on the field” said Michael Nsien (Head Coach), “It’s great to see young men with such high integrity and a team-first mentality. We want that attitude to be contagious to the team.”
When presented with the Roughnecks Captain title, Cyprian Hedrick had this to say, “I’m excited to be trusted with this huge responsibility. I’m thankful to the coaching staff and management who see my potential and I look forward to providing my teammates the kind of guidance and support I’ve received from captains and mentors in my career so far. It’s going to be a very tough season but I’m excited to work with all these guys to change how professional soccer is viewed in Tulsa.
“I am very excited to start the 2019 season with my new teammates. It’s a privilege to be named as one of the leaders amongst our very talented group,” said Jeff Addai (Vice-Captain), “I hope to help the team as much as possible on and off the field, and lead Tulsa to a very successful season.”
Cyprian and Jeff will don the captain’s armbands at ONEOK Stadium in the Roughnecks home opener tomorrow, March 9th when they take on the Portland Timbers 2 at 7:00PM CST.
