The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will be back at home this weekend when it hosts the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros on Saturday, October 6. It will be Margaritaville Night at ONEOK Field with kickoff for the match scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in downtown Tulsa. It is the next-to-last home game of the season.
As part of Margaritaville Night festivities, leis will be given out to the first 500 fans through the gates and everyone that comes to the match is encouraged to wear a Hawaiian shirt. In addition, there will be buy one, get one Cheeseburgers in Paradise and $5 margaritas available to purchase on the concourse.
All of Saturday’s activities are presented by Hillcrest, Tulsa’s Channel 8 and AM 1430 The Buzz.
Saturday’s match will be the second of two meetings this season with the Toros. On July 7, the Roughnecks played to a 1-1 draw with RGV at H-E-B Park in south Texas. RGV scored the game’s first goal midway through the second half, but Tulsa responded quickly. Jesus Ferreira found Paris Gee who buried a low shot that leveled the game.
The Roughnecks are coming off a 2-0 loss at Reno 1868 FC. Tulsa surrendered two first half goals and was unable to find the back of the net. TRFC is 1-3-1 over its last five matches and has an overall record of 3-9-5 with Michael Nsien as head coach.
Rio Grande Valley comes into Tulsa fresh off a win against Fresno and has a 1-9-5 road record. The Toros are 3-1-1 over their last five matches.
