The Tulsa Roughnecks FC picked up its second straight home victory last Saturday with a hard-fought 2-1 win over in-form San Antonio FC, and today, defender Claudio Munoz was recognized for his role in the result. Munoz was named to the USL Team of the Week that was announced by the league office.
It is the first time that the former Chilean National Team defender has received a spot on the Team of the Week.
Munoz turned in a strong performance on the Roughnecks backline in Saturday’s victory over San Antonio. He had five interceptions, five clearances and three tackes. He also won 10 of 12 duels during the match.
The win marked the first time that TRFC had defeated San Antonio FC during a regular season match. The two teams played to a draw earlier this year.
