MATCH PREVIEW
Wednesday, August 8
vs. Oklahoma City Energy FC
Kickoff – 7:30 p.m. at ONEOK Field
The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will host the third and final edition of the Black Gold Derby for the 2018 regular season when it takes on the Oklahoma City Energy on Wednesday, August 8. It will be Bark in the Park Night and Buck Night at ONEOK Field with kickoff for the match scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in downtown Tulsa.
Fans are invited to bring their dogs, with proper rabies vaccination records, and enjoy the match on the grass berms or in the Busch Terrace. In addition, fans will be able to enjoy $1 soft drinks, hot dogs and beers as part of the Buck Night promotion.
Wednesday’s match will determine the winner of this season’s Black Gold Derby between the state rivals. The Roughnecks will need a victory as Oklahoma City claimed a 1-0, season-opening win on March 17, and the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw in Tulsa on May 26.
The game marks the second of three straight home matches for the Roughnecks. On Saturday, August 11, TRFC will close out the stretch by hosting Colorado Springs.
The Roughnecks have gone 1-1-3 since Michael Nsien took over as head coach. Tulsa has yet to lose at home under Nsien, going 1-0-2 in three previous matches at ONEOK Field.
TRFC played to a 1-1 home draw with Fresno in its last outing and has now played a franchise record 10 draws this season, second-most in the USL.
