MATCH PREVIEW
Wednesday, May 9
vs. Reno 1868 FC
Kickoff – 7:00 p.m. at ONEOK Field
The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will return to ONEOK Field for the first time in over a month on Wednesday, May 9 when it hosts Reno 1868 FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. for Bark-in-the-Park and Buck Night at the stadium, with fans invited to bring their dogs to the game while also having the chance to enjoy $1 soft drinks, beers and hot dogs.
All of Wednesday’s activities are presented by City of Tulsa Save our Streams; City Vet Hospital, 2 Works for You and 106.9 K-Hits.
The Roughnecks will carry a four-match unbeaten streak into the game, but will be looking for their first win of season. TRFC has gotten draws in each of their past four games, including three straight on the road. A win or another tie would allow the Roughnecks to match the franchise record of five straight unbeaten outings that has been established twice, July 1-31 of last season and August 2-15 of the 2015 season.
Reno 1868 will also enter the game on a four-match unbeaten run, picking up two wins followed by a pair of scoreless draws in its past two outings.
After being held without a goal in three of their first four matches, the Roughnecks have now found the back of the net in three straight games. Joaquin Rivas has scored in each of the last two and leads TRFC with four total goals on the year.
Wednesday’s match will mark the first of three straight games in Tulsa for the Roughnecks. On Saturday, they will host Didier Drogba and Phoenix Rising FC at ONEOK Field. The following Wednesday, May 16, TRFC will host either Wichita FC or the Oklahoma City Energy U-23 team at the University of Tulsa Soccer and Track Stadium in the second round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. Those two teams will play on May 9 in a first-round meeting.
