The Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced today that they have signed two more players for the 2018 season. Midfielder Jonathan Levin has re-signed with the club, and veteran defender Nemanja Vukovic has been added.
This will be Levin’s second stint with the Roughnecks as he appeared in nine matches last season, including the squad’s playoff appearance. The 24-year-old has also spent time with Veracruz of Mexico’s second division, along with Jaguares de Chiapas and Puebla FC. Levin started six of the nine matches that he appeared in with the Roughnecks.
Vukovic will add a veteran presence on the Roughnecks having played two seasons in the USL with Sacramento and a season in the MLS with the Columbus Crew. He has spent the past two seasons with Indy Eleven when the club was a part of the NASL. His playing career has also including stints with various clubs in Montenegro and Greece.
The native of Montenegro came to the USA and joined the Crew for the 2012 season, appearing in 15 MLS games. He came back to the US in 2014 and played two seasons with Sacramento, scoring 4 goals in 56 games and helping the Republic win the league title.
Vukovic has spent the last two years in the NASL, scoring 5 goals in 59 appearances with Indy.
The Roughnecks are back in California on Saturday night to face the first-place Sacramento Republic FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30pm.
