The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will head to Texas this Saturday, March 10, to face San Antonio FC in its final preseason match before the start of the 2018 regular season. TRFC is 2-1-1 in the preseason with wins over the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University and a draw against the Swope Park Rangers. The only defeat came last Saturday against the Chicago Fire, the Roughnecks MLS affiliate.
Kickoff for Saturday’s match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. There will be no live streaming available for the game, but fans can get updates through the Roughnecks official Twitter account.
The Roughnecks and San Antonio met four times during the 2017 campaign. TRFC’s lone win came in dramatic fashion in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup when the Roughnecks won on penalty kicks.
San Antonio took the two USL regular season matches from Tulsa, winning 3-1 and 2-0. Toyota Park is where Tulsa’s season came to an end after a heartbreaking loss in the first round of the USL playoffs.
This will be the final tune-up before the Roughnecks open the 2018 season next Saturday in Oklahoma City in the first edition of the Black Gold Derby. TRFC will look to keep the coveted wrench in Tulsa after taking two out of three matches from the Energy FC last season.
The home opener at ONEOK Field will take place on Saturday, March 24 when the Roughnecks host the Real Monarchs SLC at 7:00 p.m. The opening game will include a post-match Fireworks Show.
