The Tulsa Roughnecks FC has announced that the club’s first-ever goal scorer will have a new role with the team this season. Brady Ballew has been hired into the new role of Media Specialist/Broadcast Analyst.
Ballew was one of the original Roughnecks when the team started play in the United Soccer League in 2015. In his rookie season, the Seattle University product scored six goals, including the first-ever goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with Oklahoma City in its inaugural match.
In his new position with the Roughnecks, he will help provide content for all of the club’s social media accounts with interviews and behind-the-scenes features. In addition, Ballew will join Jeremie Poplin and David Saunders on the team’s match broadcasts, serving as an on-field analyst to provide a unique perspective to the games.
"After three great years of playing for TRFC, I'm excited to have been given this opportunity to continue to work with the Roughnecks through the lens of social media and broadcasting,” said Ballew. “I hope this new position I'm in gives the fans more behind-the-scenes access to the team and further enhances the game day experience at ONEOK."
In his three seasons on the field, Ballew made a club-record 64 regular season appearances.
This off-season, Ballew has moved off the field to partner with Claire Spears in opening Press Cafe x Yoga, a hot yoga and coffee shop located just two blocks from ONEOK Field. Press has become the Official Coffee Partner of TRFC and will provide pre-game coffee for the Roughnecks.
“It is exciting for the Roughnecks to announce this new role for Brady,” said Roughnecks Vice President Brian Carroll. “Brady has been one of the most popular and familiar figures in our organization, and we believe that will continue to be the case as he develops into this new role.”
“We are looking forward to “Saint Brady” joining and helping us produce and distribute new content and information to our fans through our social media accounts,” said Roughnecks Marketing Director Justin Gorski. “Brady will provide a new perspective that we think all of our fans will enjoy.”
Ballew will begin his new role immediately.
