The complete 2018 regular season schedule for the Tulsa Roughnecks FC is now set. The Roughnecks will play a 34-game USL schedule with 17 home games at ONEOK Field. The 34 matches in the regular season is the most that the USL has ever played.
The highlights of the schedule will be the first home match of the season on Saturday, March 24 against Real Monarchs SLC and two home matches in the Black Gold Derby with the Oklahoma City Energy. The first of the derby matches will take place over Memorial Day Weekend when the Energy will make their first visit to Tulsa on Saturday, May 26. The second game at ONEOK Field will take place on Wednesday, August 8.
The Roughnecks and Energy will open the season with the only meeting in Oklahoma City on Saturday, March 17 at Taft Stadium.
Counting the three Black Gold Derby games, TRFC’s schedule will include a large slate of other regional games for a total of 12 games against their closest rivals in the league. Tulsa will also face Saint Louis FC three times as STLFC moves back to the USL’s Western Conference. The Roughnecks will also play a home and away match against each of San Antonio FC, the Swope Park Rangers, and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
In the 34-game slate, TRFC will play home and away matches against each of the other 14 teams in the USL’s Western Conference. To complete the full schedule TRFC will play the one additional game against Oklahoma City, and the additional game at Saint Louis FC.
After opening the season in OKC, Tulsa will return home for three straight games. After facing the Monarchs for the home opener, the Roughnecks will host Orange County SC on Saturday, March 31 and the Portland Timbers 2 on Wednesday, April 4.
The Roughnecks will also see their first-ever meetings against a pair of new expansion clubs. Early in the season as they will head out west to face Fresno FC on April 18, and the Las Vegas Lights on May 5. The new teams will make their first trips to Tulsa later in the year as Las Vegas will be in town on Saturday, June 30 while Fresno will visit ONEOK Field on Saturday, July 28.
Tulsa supporters will also have opportunities to support the club away from home. Tulsa will play in St. Louis against Saint Louis FC on July 14 and August 25, and in Kansas City against the Swope Park Rangers on August 29.
The Roughnecks will close the regular season with two straight home matches, hosting the Rio Grande FC Toros on Saturday, October 6 and the Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday, October 13.
Season tickets are currently on sale at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office or by calling (918)744-5901. Individual tickets for all home matches will go on sale in February.
The Roughnecks Ticket Staff will hold an Open House at the stadium next Thursday, January 25 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Representatives from the Roughnecks Ticket Office and mascot Oil-E will be available to take fans inside the stadium to see the new field layout that will put fans closer to the action this season.
Fans attending the Open House will also be able to enjoy complimentary soft drinks, beer and popcorn. The entrance for event will be set up through the Administrative and Suite Entrance located on Elgin Avenue, next to the Ticket Office.
