The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will face the OKC Energy for the third and final regular season meeting of 2017 on Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City. The Roughnecks have won the first two meeting this year between the in-state rivals by identical 2-1 scores. Kickoff on Sunday is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Oklahoma City’s Taft Stadium.

The Roughnecks enter Sunday’s match with 40 points on the season from a 12-10-4 record and come into the weekend occupying fifth place in the USL’s Western Conference standings.
The Energy come in with 34 points from a 9-10-7 record and are currently just outside the eight playoff spots in ninth position.
TRFC has lost only two times since July 1, compiling a 7-2-4 record during that time.
Historically in the regular season Black Gold Derby series, the Roughnecks have a 3-5-2 record against the Energy. The two teams split the 2015 series, the Roughnecks first season of play, with 1-1-2 record. OKC swept all four games last year.
Tulsa has already established franchise highs this season with the most wins (12) and points (40) in the team’s three-year history.
The Energy are difficult opponent at Taft Stadium, going 7-2-3 in home matches this season and collecting 24 of their 34 points at home.
COMING HOME
Sunday’s game will mark the next-to-last regular season away match for the Roughnecks this season. TRFC will conclude the regular season with four of the final five matches at ONEOK Field. The ending stretch will begin with a home game against LA Galaxy II next Saturday, September 23, at ONEOK Field. Each of the four final home games will kick off at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
SVANTESSON CLOSING IN ON RECORD
Ian Svantesson’s 11 goals this season ties him with Sammy Ochoa for the franchise record for most goals in a season. Ochoa scored 11 goals last season for the Roughnecks.
SEASON TICKET RENEWALS FOR 2018
Season ticket holders may now renew their tickets for the 2018 season. Fans renewing their tickets by Friday, October 13 will receive a special Roughnecks Tote Bag. Renewal letters were sent earlier this week.
