Tulsa Roughnecks FC will be in action at ONEOK Field this week for a pair of important matches. The set of two games will open with a meeting with Interstate 44 rivals Saint Louis FC on Thursday night, followed by the second edition of the Black Gold Derby with the Oklahoma City Energy on Saturday. Both matches will kick off at 7:30 p.m. in downtown Tulsa.
Thursday’s match will feature a $5 Thursday promotion with Lawn and Busch Terrace Tickets only $5 each and all other tickets $5 off. In addition, fans can take advantage of a special at the concession stands, where a hot dog or nacho and a beer or soft drink in pick-2 combo can be purchased for only $5. It is also a Bark in the Park Night, with fans able to bring their dogs to the match, and a Thirsty Thursday, with 16-ounce soft drinks and 12-ounce servings of Bud and Bud Light on sale for only $1 each
Saturday’s match not only features a second meeting with Oklahoma City, but it is also Library Reading Night. Students who participated in the Summer Reading Program receiving free general admission tickets, plus getting coupon that will get them $2 off on all other tickets. In addition, the first 1,000 students will receive a Roughnecks lanyard that is perfect for back to school. Saturday will also feature an Oklahoma Blood Institute Blood Drive from 1:30-6:30 p.m. at the stadium with all persons giving blood receiving a pair of tickets to the September 23 match against the LA Galaxy II.
The Roughnecks will look to return to their winning ways after seeing their five-match unbeaten run snapped with a 3-2 loss to Reno last Saturday. TRFC is currently in the eighth and final playoff spot in the USL’s Western Conference standings, but only four points separate the five teams that are in the seventh through eleventh spots in the table.
After finishing the month of July undefeated, Thursday’s match is the second of six games during a busy August for the Roughnecks. However, the two matches this week are the final home games at ONEOK Field during the month. Tulsa will not return home again until hosting Los Dos on Saturday, September 23.

NOTES: Ian Svantesson and Juan Pablo Caffa continued to add to their goal-scoring totals in Saturday’s loss to Reno. Svantesson scored his team-leading ninth goal in the game, while Caffa, who is second to Svantesson in goals scored, added his sixth of the year with a highlight-reel free kick just after halftime. . .The Saturday meeting with the Oklahoma City Energy will be the second of three games between the state rivals. Tulsa defeated the Energy 2-1 back on July 8 and could clinch the season series with a second victory. . .The game with Saint Louis FC is the first of two this season between the rivals with the return game scheduled for August 23 in St. Louis.

It’s Library Reading Program Night with students who completed the Tulsa City-County Library Summer Reading program able to use their Roughnecks ticket coupon for free admission. Those students and their families may purchase additional tickets for $2 off.
The first 1,000 students to enter through the Archer, Arvest and Oil Derrick Entrances will receive Roughnecks Back-to-School Lanyards compliments of Vet Promo, FOX23 and Mix 96.
The Oklahoma Blood Institute will be conducting a Blood Drive in conjunction with the match from 1:30-6:30 p.m. on Archer Avenue. All fans who donate blood will receive two free tickets to the Roughnecks match on Saturday, September 23 with the Los Angeles Galaxy II.
