Saturday’s matchup with the Rangers will be the third meeting this season between the two teams. The Rangers have posted a pair of 2-1 victories in the first two matches, winning at ONEOK Field on April 2 and in Kansas City on May 14.
RECENT FORM
The Roughnecks failed to hold a halftime lead in Thursday’s match against Orange County. Tulsa took a lead just six minutes into the game when Cristian Mata set up Ochoa for his team-leading 10th goal of the season. The lead held through the first half, but it quickly disappeared after the interval. Richard Chaplow’s left-footed blast evened the score in the 48th minute, before the Blues’ Trevin Caesar took advantaged of defensive miscue to give Orange County a 2-1 lead it would not relinquish.
Swope Park was also in action midweek, gaining a 1-1 draw with cross-state rival Saint Louis FC.

The Roughnecks are expected to have the services of forward Bryce Taylor and midfielder Henri for the matchup with the Rangers. Taylor has sat out the past two matches with a hamstring injury, while Henri was forced to miss Thursday’s game due to a yellow-card suspension.

OCHOA SETS MARK, AGAIN
Sammy Ochoa’s goal in Thursday’s match allowed him to improve on the Roughnecks franchise record for goals in a season, breaking his own mark. It was his 10th goal of the 2016 USL regular season, one more than his team-leading nine goals last year in the team’s first year of play.
MINTER DEBUTS
Midfielder Chase Minter made his debut with the Roughnecks in Thursday’s match, coming on as a second-half substitute. Minter joined TRFC this week on loan from the Sacramento Republic.
MARCH TO THE MATCH
At 7:15pm on Saturday, all fans are invited to participate in the March to the Match that will be led by the Roustabouts and La Union 918. The March will begin at the Oil Derrick Entrance and conclude at The Rig, the seating section of the Roustabouts.
AFTER PARTIES AT LEFTY’S
After the match, TRFC players and coaches will attend the After Match Party at Lefty’s on Greenwood, located across the street from ONEOK Field. The party are open to fans of all ages.
