MEETING AGAIN – Sunday’s match marks the second of three meeting this season between the two sides. On March 26, the two teams met on Opening Night of the 2016 USL season with Tulsa posting a 2-0 victory. It was the first-ever match for RGV FC.
MISSING THE MATCH – The Roughnecks will be without the services of captain Sammy Ochoa who received his fifth caution of the season in last Sunday’s game with San Antonio and must serve a mandatory one-game suspension. Defender Anthony Peters will also be unavailable as he serves the second of his four-match suspension for the red card he received late in Friday’s victory over Arizona United.
Lastly, defender Steven Miller will not be with the Roughnecks as he was called back by the Carolina RailHawks after being on loan to Tulsa for the past two matches.
ROUGHNECKS ADD DEFENDER – The Roughnecks have signed defender Isaiah Schafer to a contract for the remainder of the 2016 season. Schafer attended Mars Hill University in North Carolina and was with the Pittsburgh RiverHounds in USL earlier this season. Prior to joining the RiverHounds, the Lakewood, Colorado native played for Vaasan Palloseura in Finland’s Premier League.
OPPORTUNITY FOR CARPIO – it is likely that Jasson Ramos Carpio will get starting opportunity in the match with Ochoa out. Carpio is second on the Roughnecks with three goals on the season.
MANGELS SAVES – TRFC goalkeeper Alex Mangels now leads all USL keepers with 60 saves this season. Mangels is tops in USL despite splitting time with Jake Feener.
BACK HOME FRIDAY – The Roughnecks will be back in action Friday at ONEOK Field. They will host Saint Louis FC in the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm in downtown Tulsa.
