Tulsa Roughnecks FC (TRFC) will host Real Monarchs SLC at ONEOK Field on Saturday, April 9 in its third match of the season. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM in downtown Tulsa.
Gates at ONEOK Field will open at 5:30PM, and fans will want to make plans to arrive early. The first, 1,500 fans of all ages to enter through the Arvest and Oil Derrick Entrances will receive a special edition Paint Tulsa Orange, Roughnecks flag courtesy of Pepsi, FOX23 and Mix96. The flag features the “Tulsa Rising” theme developed by the Roustabouts last season and is perfect for showing your Roughnecks pride at home.

The Roughnecks will look to post their second win of the season in the match. Tulsa shut out Rio Grande Valley in its season opener before falling to Swope Park 2-1 last week. The Roughnecks enter this week’s slate of matches tied with five teams with three points on the season. The total places them in a tie for sixth spot in the Western Conference table, excluding goal differential.
The Real Monarchs enter the game with four points through two home matches at Rio Tinto Stadium. It appeared the Monarchs were headed to a six-point start to the season, but Los Angeles Galaxy II rallied last week with three goals in the final ten minutes to gain a 3-3 draw.
The match at ONEOK Field will represent the final of three straight home matches to open the season for Tulsa.

Roughnecks players will be available for photos and autographs on the field at the conclusion of the match. Later, the players will also be at an After Match Party at Empire Bar at 1516 S. Peoria. This After Party, which is only open to those fans ages 21 and over, will feature $2.50 Oculto bottles from Empire

MENDING MATA – Forward Cristian Mata, who scored six goals in only 13 matches for TRFC last year, is expected to be available for Head Coach David Irving against the Monarchs. Mata has been held out of the first two matches as he continues to recover from a lingering foot injury. . . .MORGAN GETS FIRST – TRFC striker Taylor Morgan, who spent time earlier in his career in MLS with Toronto FC, opened his account with the Roughnecks last week with a stoppage time goal against the Swope Park Rangers. . . .WHO TO WATCH – Maikon Orellana leads the Monarchs with two goals and five points. He leads the team despite not playing in a full match yet this season. He played three minutes and scored a goal in the opener before getting a goal and an assist in a starting role last week, logging 78 minutes. . . .CENNERAZZO NOTICED – TRFC defender Gary Cennerazzo received recognition for his play last week, receiving a bench spot on the USL Team of the Week. . . .U.S. OPEN CUP DRAW – The Roughnecks learned their fate in the 2016 U.S. Open Cup this week. Tulsa will enter the tournament in the second round and will play the winner of F.C. Wichita and Des Moines Menace match. Wichita plays in the NPSL and lost 3-2 to the Roughnecks in the preseason. The Menace are a member of the PDL. Regardless of the opponent, Tulsa will have to travel for its second round match. The Roughnecks had bid to host the second round and, if they advance, the third round. When both teams bid to host, the home team is determined by a blind draw. Third round home sides will be determined after the matchups are decided. . . .
