In addition, Mazzio’s will provide free 2016 Schedule Magnets for fans as they exit the stadium.
Tulsa will enter its second season of play in the USL, looking to claim its first playoff berth. Last season, the Roughnecks just missed a Western Conference postseason spot, staying in the race until the season’s final day but falling just three points short.
The match marks the first of 30 for the Roughnecks this regular season as the USL expands its season schedule by two games.
TRFC enters the opener after playing an eight-match preseason slate, compiling a 4-1-3 (W-L-D) record. The Roughnecks will debut in the match their new, home uniforms that were revealed Wednesday.
The roster for Tulsa Head Coach David Irving includes a mix of returning player and new additions. The squad includes seven players who saw action with the team last year. The returnees include 2015 top scorer Sammy Ochoa, 2015 USL Rookie of the Year finalist Brady Ballew and local product Cristian Mata. Other returnees include Iarfhlaith Davoren, Jake Feener, Henri and Mason Grimes.
The list of newcomers is highlighted by Pakistan National Team captain Kaleemullah and several players with experience around the globe.
Pre-match activities on Saturday are slated to begin at 4:30PM with the Roughnecks Rally on Elgin Avenue, just outside ONEOK Field. The Roustabouts, the team’s official supporters group, will be on hand as will radio stations 106.9 K-Hits and La Zeta Tulsa (101.9 FM and 1270 AM). Soft drinks, beer and snacks will be for sale at the Rally.
There will be a number of games and activities for fans of all ages to enjoy. They include soccer tennis, cornhole, a face painter, a balloon artist and temporary Roughnecks tattoos.
At 6:30pm, all fans are invited to participate in the March to the Match that will be led by the Roustabouts and players from the Roughnecks youth affiliate soccer clubs.
