The Tulsa Roughnecks 2016 USL schedule has officially been set. The Roughnecks will open their second season by hosting the Rio Grande Valley Toros at ONEOK Field on Saturday, March 26. The Toros are the USL side for the Houston Dynamo of MLS. It will be the first of 30 USL regular season matches that Tulsa will play this season.
The team’s schedule will have a much larger regional make up than last year’s slate as the Roughnecks will play a total of 12 games against their closest rivals in the league. Tulsa will play the Oklahoma City Energy, the Swope Park Rangers (Sporting KC’s USL squad) and Saint Louis FC four times each, including two games with each side at ONEOK Field.

The first edition of the Black Gold Derby is scheduled to be played on Saturday, June 4 when the Roughnecks host the Energy in downtown Tulsa. The second match in Tulsa between the state rivals will be on Saturday, August 20. The Roughnecks will travel down the turnpike to Oklahoma City on Saturday, July 23 and Saturday, August 27.
Tulsa will open the season with three straight home matches at ONEOK Field. Following the opener with Rio Grande Valley, the Roughnecks will host Swope Park on Saturday, April 2 and the Real Monarchs on Saturday, April 16.
The home schedule will also include a pair of attractive matches around the 4th of July holiday. Tulsa will host Arizona United on Friday, July 1, followed by a home match with new USL side San Antonio on Sunday, July 3. Independence Holiday Fireworks Shows are planned for both dates.

Home matches in April and May will kick off at 7:00PM. Matches in June, July, August and September will feature 7:30PM kickoffs in Tulsa.
The Roughnecks first road match will be a trip to Saint Louis on Saturday, April 16.
The addition of the new regional rivals will add several opportunities for Roughnecks fans to travel to away matches. Tulsa will play Saturday matches in Kansas City against the Rangers on May 14 and September 10.
In addition to the April 16 match, the Roughnecks will play a second away game against Saint Louis on Saturday, June 11.
Tulsa will play in San Antonio on Saturday, April 30 and Saturday, September 17.
The Roughnecks will close out the regular season by hosting Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, September 24 at ONEOK Field.
The 2016 USL Regular Season will be staged over 27 weeks, with the final day of the season set for September 25. The top eight teams from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference will then advance to the 2016 USL Playoffs, with four weeks of postseason action set to crown the league’s next champion.
