Milo Yosef Appears on Team of the Week Bench
TAMPA, Fla. – FC Tulsa’s assertive 3-0 win on Saturday night in front of the largest Home Opener crowd of the FC Tulsa era caught the attention not only of Tulsans, but the USL Championship. Midfielder Blaine Ferri and forward Marcus Epps both landed on the league’s Week 3 Team of the Week, and fellow forward Milo Yosef was named to the Team of the Week bench.
It took all of three matches into his USL Championship for Blaine Ferri to earn his first weekly accolade. His highlight-reel goal in the 45+1’ minute served as the contest’s first, cutting inside and outside to shake his defender from his hip and to convert his chance. Ferri’s defense and distribution were phenomenal as well with the 22-year-old completing 24 of his 27 passes while making eight recoveries and two interceptions.
For Marcus Epps, it was more of the same as the Mississippi native scored his second goal from outside the 18 in as many weeks, Tulsa’s third of the night. His finish from 25 yards out is also up for the league’s Goal of the Week which fans can still vote for here. In addition to his magnificent goal, Epps created one scoring chance for his teammates, led the club with three shots, and won two of his three tackle attempts.
Named to the Team of the Week bench was Milo Yosef after his second goal of the season, making Yosef the club’s joint-highest scorer alongside Epps. Yosef also created one scoring chance, won both of his attempted tackles, and came up with two interceptions.
All three players are back in action on Tuesday night as FC Tulsa hosts Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at ONEOK Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT and tickets are still available here.
