“La Selecta” Needs Three Wins and Additional Help in the Final Qualifying Window
KINGSTON, Jamaica – As El Salvador suites up for its match tonight signaling the beginning of the final window of World Cup Qualifying, both Joaquín Rivas and Ronald Rodríguez are eager to show out for their home country.
For a chance to play in Qatar this November, El Salvador needs to win all three of its upcoming matchups against Jamaica, Canada, and Honduras accompanied by negative results from Panama and Costa Rica. Although the odds may be slim, FC Tulsa’s Salvadoran duo will give it everything they have.
El Salvador matched up with Jamaica back on November 12, 2021 in the third window of CONCACAF qualifying, resulting in a 1-1 draw back at Estadio Cuscatlán with Alex Roldan leveling the score in the 90’ minute. However, “La Selecta” will need to come away from tonight with more than just one to keep its 2022 World Cup hopes alive.
The match kicks off from Independence Park at 6:05 p.m. CT on Paramount+.
