The Tulsa Roughnecks FC took a first-half lead Wednesday night through Michael Gamble’s first professional goal, but in the end had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Reno 1868 FC at ONEOK Field. With the draw, the Roughnecks ran their unbeaten streak to five straight games, matching the franchise record, but they again came up short of their first win of the season.

All five matches in the unbeaten run have been ties, giving TRFC five points on the season with a 0-3-5 record.

Reno 1868 FC had the first dangerous opportunity of Wednesday’s match, five minutes in, but Tulsa goalkeeper Fabian Cerda tipped Lindo Mfeka’s free kick effort over the crossbar.
In the 26th minute, Reno 1868 keeper J.T. Marcinkowski saved Josh Morton’s effort off the goal post to keep it scoreless.
The Roughnecks finally broke through in the 43rd minute when Joaquin Rivas found space in the middle of the field. Rivas fed Paris Gee on the right wing, and he delivered a low cross into the front of goal and to a waiting Michael Gamble who buried his shot into the net. For Gamble, it was his first-ever professional goal, and for Gee, it was his team and league-leading fourth assist of the season.

Neither team could find a game winner, though Rivas and newcomer Jesus Ferreira had opportunities in the final ten minutes for TRFC.
It was the 17-year-old Ferreira’s debut for the Roughnecks, making him the youngest player in Tulsa history.
Nemanja Vukovic also made his TRFC debut, coming on as an 83rd-minute substitute.
The Roughnecks will be back in action at ONEOK Field in three days. On Saturday evening, TRFC will host Phoenix Rising FC. The Phoenix roster includes former Chelsea F.C. superstar Didier Drogba.
