Scottsdale Native Trained with Real Salt Lake and San Jose Earthquakes Academies
TULSA – FC Tulsa has added a third goalkeeper to its roster, completing its GK corps prior to the start of the 2022 USL Championship season on Saturday. After a successful preseason trial, FC Tulsa has signed 20-year-old keeper Dallas Odle, a former MLS Academy player, to an Academy contract, pending league and federation approval. Odle, an Arizona-native, is the 6th player signed to an Academy contract by FC Tulsa for the 2022 season, a club record.
We are ecstatic to have added Dallas to our squad,” said FC Tulsa head coach Michael Nsien. “Dallas has been with us since early in the preseason, we’ve had time to evaluate his abilities
On the field and his interactions with his teammates and staff as well. Dallas has a lot of the characteristics we like for our keepers to have and with his work ethic, we believe still a lot of room to grow.”
Odle has been training with FC Tulsa since the beginning of preseason camp, working with incumbent keepers Sean Lewis and Austin Wormell. He saw some time in net this preseason, playing the final 19 minutes of FC Tulsa’s match against Houston Dynamo 2 without allowing a goal.
Growing up in Scottsdale, Ariz. Odle was a member of Real Salt Lake’s Academy system where he played from 2015-2017, before his family moved to Cupertino, Calif. and Odle joined San Jose Earthquake’s Academy program. Between his time with the two MLS Academies, Odle moved up from U15 to U19 teams.
After initially attending Cal State University – Bakersfield to play soccer collegiately, Odle’s freshman season was impacted by COVID-19, and he went abroad to play as an amateur inside one of the top private residential Academies in the word, FC Málaga City Academy. He played for CD Almuñécar City senior’s team, the second-highest team in the FC Málaga City Academy structure, making 14 starts (8-4-2). He allowed only 15 goals in those 14 starts with seven clean sheets.
“I’m super excited to get things rolling with FC Tulsa,” said Odle. “I have nothing but great things to say about this organization. I cannot wait to give FC Tulsa fans my very best this season!”
FC Tulsa’s roster is now set heading into its 2022 USL Championship opener on Saturday night at Charleston Battery. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. CT and the match will air locally on My41 and stream nationally on ESPN+.
