Tommy McCabe was acquired by FC Tulsa via transfer from Detroit City FC on June 6, 2023.
2023 – DETROIT CITY FC (USL CHAMPIONSHIP)
The defensive midfielder made 11 appearances for DCFC in his first season with the club before making the move to Tulsa. With Detroit City, McCabe completed 75.7% of his passes in 1,025 minutes played.
2021-2022 – ORANGE COUNTRY SC (USL CHAMPIONSHIP)
In two seasons with Orange County SC, McCabe played a pivotal role for the club that won the 2021 USL Championship title. He made 55 regular season appearances for the side with another four playoff appearances during Orange County’s title run. In total, McCabe scored once with two assists across all competitions.
2019-2020 – FC CINCINNATI (MLS)
McCabe was selected with the 29th overall selection in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by FC Cincinnati to kickoff his professional career in Cincinnati’s inaugural MLS campaign. Amid loan spells with North Carolina FC (2019) and Memphis 901 FC (2020), McCabe appeared six times for FC Cincinnati in 2019 and added an additional MLS appearance in 2020.
2020 – MEMPHIS 901 FC (USL CHAMPIONSHIP)
McCabe was loaned to Memphis 901 FC for the end of the 2020 season where he appeared in all seven of 901 FC’s final seven matches with two assists. He played all 90 minutes of all seven matches.
2019 – NORTH CAROLINA FC (USL CHAMPIONSHIP)
McCabe began the 2019 season on loan at North Carolina FC where the midfielder appeared nine times with two goals scored. In late May, McCabe was recalled by Cincinnati FC.
INTERNATIONAL
McCabe debuted for the United States youth system in 2013 and would make cap 10 times for the Stars and Stripes at the youth level, highlighted by an appearance in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup vs. Croatia on October 20, 2015.
COLLEGE
McCabe was a superstar through three seasons at the University of Notre Dame (2016-2018). He appeared 61 times, starting all but one of those matches, and notching four assists. As a freshman, McCabe was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and ACC All-Academic Team before he was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll the following year. As a junior, McCabe earned Third Team All-ACC Honors and was named Notre Dame’s 2018 Male Athlete of the Year by The Observer.
