2022
FC Tulsa signed Rodríguez ahead of the 2022 regular season.
2016-2021 – C.D. Águila (El Salvador)
Rodríguez spent his first five seasons as a professional with C.D. Águila, the 16-time champion of El Salvador’s Primera División, after signing with the club at just 18 years old. In total, the Salvadorian native amassed an astounding 126 appearances, 122 starts, and logged 10,671 total minutes across the league’s Apertura and Clausura competitions before turning 24. Rodríguez averaged over five interceptions per match and won 63% of his duels.
In addition to his forceful defense, Rodríguez showed can be an offensive threat from the center-back position as well, especially on set pieces. He scored eight times with Águila, three of which came in the 2018-2019 season that saw Rodríguez set his career high in starts as well (33). The defender averaged nearly one shot on target per 90 minutes.
Not only did Rodríguez find success from an individual perspective, but so did Águila backed by Rodríguez’s defensive performances year after year. Águila won the Primera División’s Clausura competition in the 2018-2019 season and was the runner-up in the 2020-2021 Apertura campaign.
International
Rodríguez first joined the Salvadorian National Team back in June of 2021 as “La Selecta” began its CONCACAF World Cup qualification run and has been a mainstay the entire year. The center-back has racked up 21 caps for his country between World Cup qualifying, Gold Cup, and International Friendlies. The lone international goal scored by Rodríguez found the back of the net on June 12, 2021 in El Salvador’s 4-0 win over Saint Kitts and Nevis.
