Keegan Hughes was acquired by FC Tulsa on August 4 via loan from MLS club Columbus Crew.

Hughes signed with the Crew Academy in 2013 and was named Columbus’ Academy Player of the Year in 2018. The center-back ascended through the club’s ranks, eventually signing for the first team in January, 2023 before making his MLS debut on March 26, 2023 vs. Atlanta United. In addition to his lone MLS appearance, Hughes also made two Open Cup appearances for Columbus against Loudoun United FC and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
Hughes went on to make nine appearances for Columbus Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, playing all 90 minutes in each outing, before being loaned to FC Tulsa.
COLLEGE
Over his four-year collegiate career at Stanford University, Hughes stood out as one of the top center-backs in the NCAA. He started all 73 of his appearances for the Cardinal, scoring eight goals with seven assists. He proved a Pac-12 champion in 2020 and a three-time All-Pac-12 award winner from his sophomore to senior campaigns. As a senior, Hughes was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, was a Mac Hermann Trophy Finalist, and earned a United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team honor.
