Sean Lewis signed a new multiyear contract with FC Tulsa prior to the 2021 USL Championship season.
Lewis was a crucial part of the success of the FC Tulsa defense in 2020, playing every minute of all 16 matches. Lewis' 79% save percentage was the best of his professional career, and his 51 saves were third best in the USL Championship amongst all keepers.
No goalkeeper made as many saves while allowing as few goals as Sean Lewis in 2020. He recorded four clean sheets, the most of any single season as a professional, despite the pandemic-shortened campaign.
For his record-breaking season, Lewis was named the club's Most Valuable Player in 2020 as well as Fan Favorite of the Year.
Lewis started 16 matches in net for Tulsa in 2019 and was the first choice keeper when healthy for Coach Nsien’s squad. Tulsa's record was 5-7-4 with him in net as opposed to 3-7-5 when he was unable to play.
He recorded five of the club’s eight wins in 2019 while leading the team in all statistical goalkeeping categories including 48 total saves, a 61.5 save pct. and two clean sheets.
Sean Lewis ranks second amongst all Tulsa keepers with 32 appearances and 2,881 minutes. His six clean sheets are also second most in club history, trailing all-time leader Fabian Cerda, who has 11.
2017-2018 - PENN FC (USL CHAMPIONSHIP)
Before signing with Tulsa in December of 2018, Lewis spent the 2017 and 2018 USL Championship season with Penn FC, making 13 appearances over two seasons and recording four clean sheets. He notched 35 saves in his 13 matches, good for 61.4 save pct.
2016 - JACKSONVILLE ARMADA (NASL)
in 2016, Lewis manned the net for Jacksonville Armada. He started 10 of the 11 matches in which he made an appearance, playing primarily as a backup for the NASL side. He made 35 saves and logged 4 clean sheets in 2016.
2015 - OLYMPIA WARRIORS FC - AUSTRALIA
He began his professional career in Australia, signing with the Australian National Premier League side Olympia Warriors FC in 2015. Lewis made 24 starts, earning a clean sheet in 14 of those matches. In his time in the second tier of Australian soccer, Lewis won the Summer Cup, State Championship, and League Cup.
Lewis played college soccer for three years (2010-2012) at Western Michigan University before transferring to Oakland for his senior season in 2013. At WMU he made 45 appearances, starting 23 times and playing over 3,700 minutes. He made 169 saves in his three years, good for a 73.5 save pct, including a stellar 81.2 save pct in his final season with the Broncos. After he transferred, he started 17 matches for the Golden Grizzlies and made 63 saves. He had 3 clean sheets in his senior season.
