Kevin Garcia signed to FC Tulsa on February 28, 2020 after spending the previous four seasons with the Houston Dynamo organization. As the Toros’ captain in 2016, Garcia led the league’s second-best defense, allowing just 24 goals in 30 matches, including a streak where Toros held opponents scoreless for over 800 consecutive munutes. RGV FC locked down the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference that season.
His standout season earned him a contract with the Dynamo in 2017 and over the next three seasons, Garcia would make 38 appearances for Houston. He was a part of the Dynamo’s 2018 U.S. Open Cup title-winning team, making four appearances for Houston in the tournament, and also scored his first MLS goal that same season. Garcia made 12 appearances for Houston last season and made his CONCACAF Champions League debut against Tigres UANL of Liga MX.
Prior to his time in MLS, Garcia played for Galway United FC, of the League of Ireland First Division, and for Västerås SK, of the Swedish Third Division, in 2015. He made 23 combined appearances between the two clubs that year.
From 2013-2015, Garcia played in the Swedish Third division for IFK Luleå, making 32 appearances and scoring two goals. He made the jump to Ireland and Galway United at the beginning of 2015.
Garcia was a four-year starter with the Villanova Wildcats from 2008-2011, scoring six goals and seven assists in his college career. He was a third round selection in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the New England Revolution. He made one start in the 2013 U.S. Open Cup for Icon FC before moving to Luleå.
